The fact that legendary singer, 2baba has a huge fan base should come as no surprise to many. The talented 42-year-old who started his music career with boy-group Plantashun Boiz, has since earned his place in the league of internationally-recognised artistes who are doing Nigeria proud, with his long list of hugely successful albums.
Over the weekend, he was in Port Harcourt for Dare to Mix Festival, an annual event which showcases the best of music, cocktails, comedy and other fun activities. As usual, he gave a mind-blowing performance and had everyone screaming at the top of their voices in no time. The crowd appreciation was phenomenal.
One fan however took his love for the ‘Gaga Shuffle’ singer a step further by sneaking up to the stage and grabbing on to his idol’s legs while he performed. For a minute, the security personnel tried to get him off the stage, but when it became obvious he meant no harm, he was allowed to enjoy the pleasure of ‘touching the hem’ of his favourite pop icon’s garment, even if just for a few minutes.
His joy knew no bounds, especially as 2baba welcomed his embrace warmly, gently patting him on the back as he continued performing.
