Reports have emerged of a shooting at Cape Town International Airport this Wednesday morning. One person, a man in his 50s, was shot at the drop off zone in what appears to be a gang-related shooting. Suspects travelling in an unknown vehicle opened fire on him before fleeing the scene.
SAPS spokesperson Vish Naidoo said:
Naidoo refuted reports that the 50-year old victim was a gang leader.
“We do not want to get to the motive at this point in time until we are certain depending on how our investigations unfold on exactly what the motive was for the shooting.”
The shooting took place at about 05:15 on Wednesday morning, according to CapeTalk Radio. It is alleged that a BMW X5 and a white vehicle were involved in the shooting.
Meanwhile, the 50 year old man shot at the Cape Town airport has being identified as suspected Sexy Boys gang leader Jerome “Donkie” Booysen. It Was reported sources say this would be the third time Jerome “Donkie” Booysen has been the target of a shooting this year.
