The General Overseer of The Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye,yesterday, addressed the recent tithe controversy that has been generating series of arguments on the social media by advising Christians especially his members on the dangers attached to none compliance to paying of tithe. In his sermon ,Pastor Adeboye asked the congregation to avoid divine curse like a plaque by pleasing God and also in paying of their tithe. Adeboye Enumerating secrets of breaking forth, used the opportunity to react to controversial online personality, Daddy Freeze who said no Nigerian Prophet, Pastor or General Overseer is qualified to receive tithes from their members. According to Freeze, tithe was meant to be eaten with our families in the house of God, it is biblical to use your tithe and buy beer and drink in the house of God. Adeboye however debunked Freeze’s opinion saying ‘even mad people will not come to church to drink alcohol’. he said:

“Avoid divine curse like a plaque, somebody show me something on the internet on the question of paying tithe or not and the fellow said tithe is suppose to be used to buy alcohol and drink in the church. “Now you know who is talking, even mad people will not come to church to drink alcohol, no matter how crazy that fellow is, asked him to come to church and drink beer, he will tell you that he is not that crazy, because even in his madness, he knows that it is the house of God and he will refuse to do such thing. But this fellow said otherwise that tithe ought to be used to drink alcohol. “I know who is talking and I did not want to worry myself about such person. But please do not let anybody get you into trouble by attracting God’s curse to yourself, please pay your tithe.” “I have said it before and I will say it again and again, if your physical father curse you, it can be cancel by your spiritual father, if your spiritual father curse you it can be cancel by the general overseer, if your general overseer curse you, you can fast and pray to your father in heaven but it God curses you, where will you go, he asked.

Is that the only point freez made ...this is strategy just to make freeze look like not worthy or not qualify to speak what he think is right..men of God u people should use the scripture..take the challenge and not turn it into an in relevant comedy..

Take care of your poor church members to avoid divine calamity. Last time I checked, birds of the air and fish of the seas don't tithe, yet God takes care of them.

Sir, with all due respect, there is no biblical backing that says God will curse a non- tither. I pay my tithe faithfully and believe in it because I want my God to know that I do not regard money more than him and because God instructed me to. I guess God knows best the reason why he said we should pay it.

Mr. Adebayo, did your father and mother pay tithes? Before the advent of this your scheming dogma of self-enrichment, and using the name of God to instill fear in the Christain family, did Almighty God curse your parents? If your parents were cursed, why were they able to have fake rich pastor son like you? Please stop fooling yourself, because 95% of the people u are attempting to deceive could and have the same scriptures that u use to play with their income/money. "Devine Curse": Wow!! If God would choose to punish anybody for not paying tithes, then there would be nothing like "Devine" about the curse. All the fear u guys try to create in the lives of Christain followers does not even allow u to discern between "divinity" and a "curse". Shame on all of you that think people are still in age-long slumber. Bytheway, please check the ancestral relationship of the people u are deceiving and that of the Levites. Levites were asked to bring 1/10 of the farm produce to help feed the needy and hungry, and that was then, Christ never asked us to make that a tradition for all people in the world who wish to worship God. And Christ never asked people to pay tithes to pay pastors their reward here on earth - while the rest of the people await their own reward until the last day (if they make it to Heaven).

Can anyone please tell me where Jesus or the apostles ask us to pay tithes in the new testament? Malaki is old testament and we don't leave in old testament any more after the death on the cross. Maybe I'm wrong I just want to know

God will not curse you over tithe if he does then there is a problem, is it not the Bible that says that we are clothed in Jesus Christ or we are in Christ as christians then if God cures us is not then cursing Christ out savior ? The Nigerian churches are loosing money in the church,
