Dear Bethren,

Read: John 15:7

If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. (John 15:7)

To abide is to stand fast, remain, stay, reside, to submit to.

The riches, blessings, goodness of the Word of God is inexhaustible and the importance of the Word of God can not be overemphasized. Staying in the Word of God requires a made up mind. You purpose in your heart to abide/remain in the Word come what may, even when your schedule is so tight, it seems 24 hours is not enough for you in a day, or  darkness seems to be closing in; your experience(s) seem to be contrary to the Word of God or His promises that you have been told, or have read or believed; you pray, read, meditate on and confess the scriptures, doing all that you know to do and nothing seems to be happening, my friend, there is no alternative, the Word of God is still the safe/secure place to be.

You  must do whatever it takes to abide in Him and have the Word abide in you  for there in is your cleansing - 'You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you.' (John 15:3);  your peace - 'Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you.'(John 14:27);  your rest - ' Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.' (Matt.11:28)  your life and light. 'In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.' (John 1:4)  your protection, your security, your encouragement and courage, your joy,  your victory and much more.

Listen to what Peter said  'But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.' (John 6:68). Even though he didn't seem to understand what the Master was doing/saying, he made up his mind to stick with Him because he was convinced in Him is the safe place to be.
I want to leave you with the words of a friend in the email he sent to me this week "I'm learning to rest in Jesus, and make sure I intentionally spend time with Him and relax and let the Holy Spirit lead everything I do."

God bless you as you abide in His Word

Comfort
