Manchester United can confirm top spot in Group A with just a point as they return to Champions League action against Basel on Wednesday.

With just one goal conceded after four games, United are firmly in pole position but face a Swiss side sitting in second place and level on points with third-placed CSKA Moscow.

A slip up for Basel - who have Taulant Xhaka is suspended for the game - could see them facing elimination, with a trip to Benfica on the final matchday, while United are averaging more than two goals a game.

United have not always had it their own way against Basel, being knocked out of the Champions League group stage by Wednesday's opponents five years ago.
