A 30-year-old woman has been arrested in Katsina while attempting to sell her 32 days old female twins
The suspect, Salima Lawal of Marabar Kankara in Malumfashi LGA of the state according to the state commissioner of Police, Besen Gwana had already negotiated to sell her twin children at the sum of N350,000.
He said, the arrest was on a tip-off and the command has commenced investigation into the matter.
Salima in a chat with newsmen confessed to the act but failed to give any reason behind the purported plan
However a police source confided in our reporter that during investigation it was discovered that Salima is divorced from her husband whom she had another 2 year old son for.
She told a team on investigations that her husband one Yusuf Abdullahi a commercial motor rider had abandoned her which forced her to act the way she did.
“But when accosted the supposed husband Abdullahi denied abandoning her that they were divorced two years ago”, the source said.
