The Hijab Controversy Is Needless & Will Be Addressed – NBA President, A.B Mahmoud

President of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Abubakar Balarabe Mahmoud has reacted to the trending story of a lawyer who passed all the necessary examinations and fulfilled all requirements, but was not called to bar earlier this week because she wore her Hijab under her wig at the ceremony. The story has generated mixed reactions both on social media and offline. Mahmoud, sharing a photo of British-Nigerian lawyer Olufunke Abimbola who received an MBE for promoting diversity in the legal profession, said that “the Hijab issue will be addressed.”



Mahmoud also shared a photo of his daughter  Zubaida Mahmoud wearing her Hijab during her admission ceremony to the New York Bar earlier this year. “The controversy here on Hijab is needless,” he said.

islamic law is among one of the first law in the world we humanor mortal have problem causing problem why disallowing the girl NBA what is the problem have to do with hijab let us all know in this situation

So ,once america accept hijabs,naija must accept as well? This fools just put america and uk ahead instead of believing in the law of their land..come and address it, after then go and address book harams too...compound fools!!!

Nigeria and religious fanaticism. Christians go to the extreme likewise the Muslims. If NBA has a convocation dress code, she should have followed it because Allah would not have persecuted her for not wearing Hijab for a few hours.
