The Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Innoson Group, Innocent Chukwuma, has been arrested by the operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.

The development was made public in a series of tweets on Tuesday by the indigenous automobile company, where it disclosed that its CEO was arrested without prior invitation.

Innoson accused GTB of being behind the arrest, an allegation the company denied.

The company wrote via @innosonmotors, “GTB vs Innoson ‘illegal Arrest’ hundreds of factory workers from Innoson factory Emene Enugu protests the illegal bundling of Innoson to Lagos by EFCC organised by GTB.

“Like a commando style, GTB uses EFFC to storm Innoson Enugu Residential Home to bundle him to Lagos like a common criminal without any prior invitation.

In November, the company said the police had withdrawn the charges against Chukwuma.

The dispute between the company and GTB began in 2012.

Efcc should be cautioned ! This is not junta regime ,we r not governed by martial decree but rule of law and whoever in power should protect democratic principle in all sectors .Illegsl arrest of a capitalist who is helping robust the economy should be condemn ,it just doesn’t encourage industrialists .A fair play ground irrespective of his political affliates should be accorded with stringent respect for being a brain behind the economy development of the nation and a huge employer of Nigerian workers .In industrialized nation ,capitalist and industrialist are well placed in similar portfolio with political leaders and they enjoy similar immunity in many cases ,this is to encourage industrialist and investors .This disrespectful invasion of innoson factory and his arrest without prior notice shows lack of respect for a man who is contributing massively to a nation manufacturing sector .Absokutely annoying !

I think devils are hunting Nigeria leadership. Does any law in Nigeria permit a B2B disagreement to become an unlawful behavior that requires EFCC involvement?

If GTB (whatever the acronym stands for) has any ask to grind with Innoson, it should be settled at the court: attorney vs attorney, which would be presided over by a judge. If a law court finds either party guilty, then the Govt can get involved in the case it contravenes any law of the land/country. EFCC should not become the police or the judiciary of the country.  I hope the Nigerian govt encourages more manufacturers into the country no matter the location of the business. I hope it is not because he is an Igbo man? Dangote is operating with govt incentives and protection. Please give respect to this man, Innoson, who is about to save Nigerian from her economic woes by at least limiting the number of used cars, trucks, and vans dumped in the country every month.

After emptying the nation's treasure the bigger thieves have been busy crippling investments that feeds the common man.. it's getting too much. Soon totally there would be no money in circulation really.. because this government wants to collect all the money in nigeria and turn the common man to beggars. Trade mark of the northerners.
