It has now been confirmed that veteran Yoruba actress, Kudirat Odukanmi Eluyemi a.k.a Iyabo Oko has finally returned to Nigeria exactly 2 years after she was knocked down by partial stroke and flown abroad by her eldest son for treatment. The actress was hit by a strange ailment in June, 2016.

According to City People, it was exactly a month to the date that City People set aside to honour her with a Special Recognition Award, for her immense contribution to the growth of the Yoruba movie industry, at the 2016 City People Entertainment Awards held at Yard 158, Kudirat Abiola Way, Oregun, Lagos. That was on July 24th.

City people reports

‘At that point, we tried all we could to talk to her, but it was difficult as her last child was the person picking her calls to prevent calls getting directly to her. Months after, City People exclusively learnt that Iyabo Oko was diagnosed with CDA and after spending weeks at a hospital called 68, inside the Army Barracks in Yaba area of Lagos, the actress was flown to the United Kingdom, (UK) for proper treatment. Though, we are yet to understand the meaning of CDA medically, but Oko regarded it a partial stroke, as she was barely audible when speaking at the time. However, she was not paralysed.

That was the actress’ health condition for months before her eldest child later took her away from UK to his base in India, where the ailment was treated. A year after, Oko granted Gbolahan Adetayo,  an exclusive interview in July 2017, where she disclosed what she had gone through all this while. A month after, she moved back to UK for recuperation before finally coming back to her father’s land last December, 2017 in sound health.  Right now, the only change in her is that, the plumb actress has slimmed down. It will also interest you to know that the talented thespian has partially excused herself from acting.’
