There has been an update to the story of Mrs Ashetu Igbawase, 42, who got pregnant for her son-in-law, Mr John Ulaha, in Awe village in Nasarawa state.

According to Saturday Sun, the woman has aborted the baby which was three months and some weeks old.

Ulaha, a farmer and carpenter, had slept with Igbawase in September 2017 after she went to help him on his farm in Keana LGA of the state to prevent Fulani herdsmen from destroying the farm produce of yam and guinea corn.

She took in three months later and, shamefacedly, informed her daughter, Victoria Ulaha.

Igbawase said at the time, “I told my daughter the truth so that we can get a solution to it and out of anger she went public with it. I have since regretted my action.”

“My intention was to find a way and abort it. My daughter agreed to look for somebody to abort it for me because I can’t keep it. The whole thing was temptation and I completely regret it.”

She said the abortion was conducted on January 16 at a pharmaceutical store in Lafia, Nasarawa at the cost of N20,000.

To avoid a recurrence, Igbawase has since relocated to Guma local government area of the state.
