Cristiano Ronaldo has been taking a break following his World Cup exploits ahead of making a huge decision regarding his future.  The Portuguese forward took some time to relax as he contemplates his next move, having been heavily linked with Juventus over the past week.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has a checkered past with the Real Madrid hierarchy and this time appears to have fallen out with them beyond repair.

Should Ronaldo take up the offer to join Juventus, it will set the Turn club back £88million, while major sponsor Fiat, will help pay for the forward’s wages.

It was also revealed on Sunday that Ronaldo has turned down a lucrative deal to move to China, worth £177million over two years, because he wants to continue playing at the highest level.

While the striker has been enjoying some down time, Juventus fans have been anticipating the arrival of one of the world’s greatest players.

Excitement has been building in Turin and there have even been Juventus shirts with Ronaldo and No 7 on the back for sale outside their stadium.

Corriere dello Sport included a photo of Ronaldo mocked up in a Juventus shirt and report that Tuesday will see the transfer all but concluded between both clubs.

They report that Madrid’s board of directors will meet and club president Florentino Perez is expected to address the issue of Ronaldo’s future with Jorge Mendes anticipated to arrive in the Spanish capital on Wednesday.
