Nigerian Senate to empower young creative Nigerians

The Nigerian Senate seems to have the plan to empower young creative Nigerians. According to the tweet from the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, he said that their goal is to ensure that when a young Nigerian has a good idea for entrepreneurial activity that can empower the person and grow our economy, they will support and empower the individual.

This is a good idea and thinking if only they can follow it through with requisite legislation that will force the executive to create a lasting independent institution  whose main function will be to empower creative and entrepreneurial Nigerians. This  independent institution would be funded directly from the Central Bank or the legit financial institution. Moreover the legislation establishing it should stipulate the huge amount of money that will be budgeted for it annually subject to upward review depending on certain circumstances. More importantly there should be certain check and balances to  prevent corruption and misuse of the institution's fund.

It should be the function of the institution to draw out a detailed plan on how they will carry this out.

I think if this is done, we will have continuous empowerment of young Nigerians irrespective of who is on power and the government's interest or focus. And when this is done regularly and consistently for many years, we will see that unemployment will be reduced drastically and Nigerian's economy will flourish with a lot of made in Nigeria products.
