The son of a retired policeman has also fallen victim to brutality meted out by SARS officers across the country, to young men who they tag fraudsters.
Twitter user @AbdulMahmud01 who shared a report of an ongoing trial at NHRC, alleged that the son of the retired policeman was arrested by SARS officers in Port-Harcourt and was killed while his family were still negotiating his release.
His tweet reads;
Quote
This is a small story and a lesson for all. Udo retired as a CSP of the Police. Last year his first and only son was picked up by SARS PH
Three days later, while he was still negotiating his son’s release, the son was extrajudicially murdered by SARS
The son’s remains were deposited at the Uniport morgue. Police claimed he died in a shootout The son he saw in the cell three days earlier
At the National Human Rights Commission’s public hearing on SARS in Port Harcourt, Udoh was a broken man.
During the hearing I asked him: “didn’t the police know that you are an ex-police officer?” “They knew, sir”, he answered.
Lesson: Don’t ever live under the illusion that SARS will never “touch me” or anybody close to me.

Few months ago, a High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital, found a five-man patrol team of the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, also known as SARS, guilty of extrajudicial killing of two friends.
The SARS operatives were led by one Samuel Chigbu while the victims of extrajudicial killing were Michael Akor and Michael Igwe in Oyigbo Local Government Area of the State.
Michael Akor (28) and his friend, Michael Igwe, were said to have been arrested while going about their businesses on June 22, 2009 by the security agents, who eventually killed them in a bush in Oyigbo the next day.

Sad but that's life. This may be pay back for all the atrocities the retired man committed while in active service. In future this current SARS murderers will also get their payback one way or the other.

this can be used to illustrate the wide effect of irresponsibility, our leaders should change our world for better, they have a huge part to play, you can not keep yourselves isolated in your mansions, islands or castle, the poverty outside the mansions will affect the rich and powerful one way or the other.

The solution, we have to go down to the lowest level in society to ensure people are empowered, educated, and people have opportunities, but how do we do that, the solutions will be provided if we ask and act wisely.
