A Member of Parliament from Central Kenya, Gabriel Kago Wa Lydia is in serious trouble after allegedly assaulting his wife Emily after she accused him of being unfaithful and infecting her with STD. The first-time legislator arrived home in a drunken stupor and descended on the lactating mother of four with kicks and blows. Close family members have alleged that he was angry with his wife, a medical practitioner after she asked him how it was possible she has been treated for segxwally Transmitted Diseases (STD) three times in under a year despite being faithful to him. They also stated that the legislator called his mother-in-law at about 3 am asking her to go pick up the “prostitute” or she would collect her (wife’s) lifeless body in the morning. Sources say the MP is seeking to have his statement entered at an earlier date than the wife's to avert arrest. Speaking on a condition of anonymity, a female police officer at the station has confirmed that indeed the MP is currently in the OCPD's office and arrest orders have been frustrated by a senior officer at Vigilance House. The MP claims its the wife who beat him up.
