An Ibadan-based commercial motorcyclist identified simply as Abass has killed himself over huge debts he owed people, a suicide note he left behind revealed.
The 50-plus man took his own life by hanging himself in his room, neighbours said.
Although Abass was said to have kids, his wife did not live with him as at when he decided to take his own life.
A neighbour was said to have found him dangling from a rope in his room on Thursday morning and immediately raised the alarm.
The Punch quoted an unnamed neighbour as saying, “The house belongs to his elder brother. He has children but his wife has left him. Someone saw his body dangling from the ceiling in the room and shouted. He was dead by that time. We saw a suicide note he left behind. He said he killed himself because of huge debts he owed people.”
