A doctor identified as Dr. Okeoghene Egigba from Okwovwori, Amukpe in Sapele area of Delta state, reportedly slumped and died while on duty at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital in Edo state.
The doctor who was a Senior Registrar in the Department of Surgery, died in the early hours of yesterday after slumping while on duty in the hospital. The department of surgery was shut down yesterday to mourn the death of the Dr. Okeoghene Egigba, who was undergoing training to become a full fledged surgeon before his sudden death.
Facebook user, Chika Ndulue who took to social media to mourn the deceased who she described as a close friend, wrote;
Chief Okeoghene Egigba. Dutiful, respectful, warm, jolly good fellow. Even in the world beyond, you will always have my respect. It is all souls day, may God receive your soul, may you intercede for us.
