Mavin star Reekado Banks has announced his departure from Don Jazzy’s record label Mavin records after five years of meritorious service. The superstar star who turned 25 yesterday announced in an emotional post that he has decided to leave the group and move on to greater things. He reiterates that meeting Don Jazzy five years ago is still the singular best thing that has happened to him in all his life. “Taking this step and moving from Mavin records is not easy but necessary for my growth,” he said.

I want to appreciate Rekado specially for making this decision public as now I know I have a big opportunity in @mavinrecords ahead of me. It would be very cool for me to be a Mavin especially now.....Recording academy is in trouble because their yearly awards will now be in six months.
