Former Chief of Defence Staff, General Domkat Bali (rtd), has blamed the lull  in the development of Nigeria  on corruption which according to him has eaten deep into the country’s treasury. He, therefore said “Corruption must stop if Nigeria wants to see the light of development”.

The Army Chief, who served as the Chairman on the occasion of the Marriage Send-forth ceremony of the daughter of the Deputy Governor of Plateau State, Mrs. Pauline Tallen, Miss Violet Tallen, noted that the problem of corruption has lingered for too long in the nation. He advised that all stakeholder join hands to collectively fight it before it wrecks the nation.

Aliaaz, who hails from Benin City in Edo State, adding that such would foster the much needed unity of the country. He said the era of inter-tribal discriminations is past, “we must all do our best to strengthen the unity of the country”.

Also speaking at the occasion, the Minister for Information and Communication, Professor Dora Akunyili, who served at the Chair-Lady, advised the couple to learn to address challenges that may come their way in love and sincerity of purpose. And also to respect each others views.

Earlier, the Archbishop of Jos Catholic Diocese, Rt. Rev Ignatius Kaigama, in his message during the Marriage Mass at St Finba’s Catholic Church, Jos, also hailed the love that brought Anthony all the way from Edo State to the Plateau for wife. He prayed God to “knit their hearts together as one, and advised more of inter-tribal marriages to strengthen the nation’s unity.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion included, General Theophilus Danjuma, Minister of State for commerce and Industries, Honourable Josephine Tapgun, Governor Jonah Jang of Plateau State, his Sokoto State Counterpart, Alhaji Aliyu Wamakko, former minister of FCT, General Jeremiah Useni, former Governor Joshua Dariye of Plateau State, the First of Kaduna State, Mrs. Amina Patrick Yakowa and Deputy Governors of nearly all the states of the federation.

Popular Artist, Sir Victor Uwaifo, Edo Traditional  groups, and Comedian, ‘Mr. Drunk’ among many others, were on ground to thrill the large audience.
