BARELY a few days after the International Monetary fund (IMF) rated Nigeria as the third fastest growing economy, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that the country was still adrift and required an urgent action to salvage it.

In a message to President Goodluck Jonathan on his visit to Anambra State, ADC’s national chairman, Chief Ralphs Okey Nwosu, said his greatest challenge was retrieving the ship of state from its current turbulent condition.

“You have the unique opportunity to redirect the ship of the Nigeria state. Our country Nigeria is adrift and in serious need of leadership, at all tiers, and at all levels; that calls for patriotic, purposeful, vision-driven and selfless leadership,”he said.

He urged the president to complete the musaloneum in honour of the nation’s first president, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, adding that it was sad that “Zik” still lay in an unkempt and ‘uncompleteable’ mausoleum. “
