"The Challenges Confronting Nigerian Journalists Today" at a guest forum organised by
the League of Veteran Journalists, Oyo state chapter, stressed the need for the media to
work harder in putting the nation's politicians on the toes to ensure better governance in the country.
The veteran journalist noted that whereas the practitioners then were determined, courageous and
committed to the ethics of the profession, the current crop of journalists are lack sense of commitment,
courage and determination.
"The media men then were ready to be counted as journalists and were ready to face the music.
Those who stood up then are look upon as examples to follow. But today, we lack determination,
courage and commitment to the profession," he said.
