The Niger Delta liberation force (NDLF) led by General John Togo has demanded an unreserved apology from President Goodluck Jonathan, for calling its members criminals and vowed to wreak more havoc on oil installations if he fails to comply.

In a six-page statement made available to newsmen in Warri, Delta State, Togo who spoke through his lieutenant, Mark Anthony wondered why Mr. President who rose on the back of the freedom fighters to his current position should now turn around and described them as criminals.

“Mr. President we want to tell you in advance that your oil pipelines will soon go up in flames in Niger Delta, just as we did to the Kaduna major hotline last week. Infact, we have not started but you better be ready with your military personnel as we have prepared Enugbidi (local bomb) made up of explosives to deal with your soldiers,” warned the daring militants.
Describing the ongoing crisis as the mother of all battles, the militants vowed to subdue the federal troops the way they dealt with them recently.

“We are ready to deal with your untrained solders fire for fire and blood for blood to set our people free from internal colonialism and slavery,” vowed the militants who threatened to make the country ungovernable.
While stressing they were not fighting Dr Jonathan, they made it clear that they were fighting fraudulent Nigerian government and its bad policies that contributed largely to the impoverishment and enslavement of the Niger-Delta which had made the people second-class citizens.

“No doubt, we will continue with our oil war and push for the total freedom of our people. We have therefore ordered our freedom fighters across the area to destroy all oil pipelines and kidnap foreigners working for multi-national oil companies,” said the militant leader and vowed not to end the war until a conference of all aggrieved ex-militants was convened to pacify the frail nerves of everyone.
The group, however, lauded Mr. President over the ongoing non-violent skill acquisition training as well as the paltry sum of N65,000 paid monthly to repentant ex-militants but maintained that the fight for freedom and emancipation of the people would continue.
