Two female lawyers, Ngozi Wilson and Phil Mpamugo, threw decency to the winds yesterday as they engaged in a physical fight in the full glare  of litigants at the Ejigbo Magistrate Court in Lagos.
The fight, which resulted in both exchanging words and blows, lasted for 25 minutes before the Magistrate, Mrs. M.B. Folami, intervened and brought the situation under control.
However, Ngozi, who claimed that Phil was a junior lawyer and had assaulted her, went to Ejigbo Police Station and reported that she was slapped three times by Phil.
The police in return came to the court and invite;;;d Phil to the station where she denied of assaulting Ngozi, but acknowledged that they exchanged words.
Phil was granted bail on self recognition and asked to report back at the police station while the investigation continued.
The cause of the fight, P.M. NEWS learnt, was the struggle to render legal service to a client who was brought to court.
Phil had accused Ngozi of snatching her client and facilitated their bail. This resulted into an argument and later a fight in the court.
The magistrate, however, admonished the two counsels for bringing the profession into disrepute and warned them to desist from such act.
When P.M. NEWS visited Ejigbo Police Station, a source in the station confirmed the incident, saying that Ngozi actually reported the matter but the police has commenced investigation on the matter.

What a bizarre rant!  If the two people mentioned in this article are really lawyers, they are definitely a threat to the public image of the legal profession. As a result, they ought to be taught an expensive lesson. Suspending them is cool.......... disbarment may not be appropriate in this case.  Absolute bullshit!! They are nothing but thugs with law degrees.
