HUNDREDS of Nigerian pilgrims, currently in Saudi Arabia, are stranded in Jedda Airport, owing to the failure of the Medview Airline to airlift them to the country.

Affected mostly are pilgrims from Ogun State, who were expected to have arrived Nigeria on Tuesday.

When the situation became rowdy, it took the intervention of Saudi Arabia authorities, which provided alternative airline, Euro Atlantic, to lift the pilgrims before normalcy could be returned.

Meanwhile, a total of 517 pilgrims from Ogun State have arrived from Saudi Arabia.

Disclosing this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), on Wednesday, in Lagos, the spokesperson at the hajj camp, Mrs Tayo Yussuf, said the returning pilgrims arrived in two batches with Medview Airlines.

“As I am speaking with you, 517 Muslim pilgrims from Ogun State have arrived with officials from other states in the zone,” she said.
