The Chairman and Board of trustees of the Move Nigeria Project, Dr. Godwin Daboh, has advised former head of state, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida (retd.), to resist supporting the consensus aspirant of the Northern Political Leaders Forum, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar.

Daboh advised Babangida to give his support to President Goodluck Jonathan and drop his ambition to rule Nigeria in 2011.

Daboh’s comments were contained in a November 30, 2010 letter titled ‘Why you must not support Alhaji Atiku Abubakar but openly support President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to emerge as Nigeria’s next democratically elected president by May 29, 2011.’

He wrote, “My dear brother, you and I have been friends for the last 49 years and from all I have seen and after making an objective analysis of the political development in the country, I know you cannot defeat President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan in any fair political contest because his rise to the highest peak of power in the country defies explanations.
