Two goals from Peter Odemwingie, taking his total for the season to eight, enabled West Brom to halt an alarming sequence of six successive defeats and prove that Blackpool are not quite the miracle workers of popular belief.

Both these teams seem to regard attack as the best form of defence so, to no great surprise, it was an unusually open, thoroughly entertaining game.
