• Recruits cultists, Almajiris • Ex-VP under SSS surveillance
SECURITY operatives have uncovered a plot by some disgruntled politicians who are members of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and their collaborators in other socio-political groups to sabotage the forth coming April General Elections. The desperate elements allegedly include a former number two citizen of the country and retired military officers linked to a former military Head of State from the North Central.
These suspected persons have allegedly vowed to make the country ungovernable for President Goodluck Jonathan between now and the period of the presidential election.
Tip-off
“The State Security Service (SSS), have also received credible information indicating that some unpatriotic politicians are planning to cause instability in the country if the result of the presidential election is favourable to Jonathan,” one of our competent sources said.
National Daily learned that the SSS findings so far, have indicted some prominent politicians including an ex-military Head of State and ex-Vice President of criminal roles in the recent bombing which claimed hundreds of lives and destroyed properties worth millions across the country. “Investigations especially in respect of the Abuja Independence Day bombings revealed that a former Head of State may have used the detained leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of Niger Delta to carry out the nefarious attack. Furthermore, a former VP was also suspected to have links with those who carried out the Abuja New Year bombings, the purpose of the second Abuja bomb blast was to intimidate President Jonathan and his supporters ahead of the January 13, 2011, PDP presidential convention held at Eagles Square,” our source confided.
Rash of protests
National Daily's intelligence further disclosed that the recent demonstration by certain people against the emergence of Jonathan as PDP's presidential flag bearer in 2011 was actually an organized event contrived in order to mellow the euphoria of Jonathan's victory and also to whittle dawn his credibility.
“It (the demonstration) was an attempt to deceive Nigerians that Atiku Abubakar was actually the popular choice of the north and that he was a victim of official manipulation and betrayal by northern quislings'. We know that the errand boys of the real organizers were given about N20 million to lure social miscreants and Almajiris to stage the so called protest. Some of the participants who claimed to be members of PDP are indeed imposters,” an informed source, from northern part of the country alleged.
