Liverpool are believed to be interested in making a move for Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris.

The Reds failed to qualify for Champions League football for the first time in six years last season and lost star striker, and Pepe Reina's compatriot, Fernando Torres to Chelsea in January.

Now with the club poised to potentially miss out on Europe entirely, the club could be set to see their Spanish shot-stopper depart and Lloris has been marked as a suitable replacement.

Reina has remained coy about whether or not he intends to remain at Anfield, having spent six years on Merseyside.

Now The Sun reports that the club's director of football Damien Comolli has his eye cast on French 'keeper Lloris should Reina decide to leave.

The Lyon man has made 22 appearances for the France national team
