A 30-year old man was slain on Tuesday at Oboro community, Burutu Council Area of Delta State following a scuffle that arose over money meant to douse political tension in the community

The sharing formula of the money, which did not go down well with some youths of the community allegedly resulted in violence which resulted in the death of the youth leader .
The deceased, identified as Gbenekeme Dennis was the youth president of the Oboro community.

A source identified as Dickson Kpokoye, who spoke with Daily Sun correspondent said the money was allegedly received by a community leader called Mr. Benaebi who, he said, distributed the money according to the number of quarters that made up the community.

Continuing, he said while the distribution was going on, Mr. Benaebi was confronted by the slain youth president for not recognizing his position in the community. While the hot argument was going on ,Benaebi ordered one Mr. Arikpede to descend on Mr. Gbenekeme .

He said the fight that ensued between Gbenekeme and Opurutie sparked riot in the community. Relatives of the slain Gbenekeme allegedly mobilized, armed themselves with dangerous weapons and proceeded to Mr. Benaebi’s home and set the house ablaze while Banaebi and his immediate family fled.
