hangchun City, China - A lovelorn bride, jilted by a fiancé who ran off with another, wanted to end it all and jump to her death from a tall building in Changchun City, China Tuesday.
Decked out in her wedding gown, a woman only identified as Miss Li, climbed out of a seventh story window and sat poised to leap for about an hour before authorities arrived.
A local TV station reported that Li was unable to live with the fact that her fiancé had left her just days before their scheduled wedding and married another woman.
The building from which Li planned to jump was where she lived on the fourth floor, however, she had made her way into someone else’s apartment on the seventh floor for the suicide attempt.
A local official, Guo Zhongfan, was able to grab Li by her neck and arms prior to her suicide attempt. Another man in the apartment below assisted by pushing her feet up so she could be pulled into the building to safety.
