President Goodluck Jonathan Tuesday, at the Aso Rock Villa, presided over a top security meeting that had the National Security Adviser (NSA), the various services and the Inspector-General of Police (IG) in attendance.

The security chiefs, who usually hold such meetings, were a bit secretive about yesterday’s outing as they used the security gate thereby circumventing State House correspondents who waited at the lobby to ask questions on their deliberations.

Although, it was not clear Tuesday night the strategy agreed upon to arrest the situation by the service chiefs, but it was gathered that given the seriousness of the attack, the government may consider some urgent and drastic measures to tackle the growing security challenge in the country.

It was also gathered that the National Economic Council meeting previously slated for Wednesday at the villa would not hold as the cabinet of President Goodluck Jonathan has not been formed especially as the Ministry of National Planning sets the agenda.
