A fan who dared enter a stand full of Liverpool supporters wearing a Manchester United shirt with Wayne Rooney's name on the back in Malaysia was goaded until he had to leave – but then praised for being a ‘legend’ by the player himself.

The shirt couldn't really have been a worse choice, given that Rooney plays for the Reds' bitterest rivals and is famously a boyhood fan of their city neighbours Everton.

But that didn't stop him wading into a stand, brazenly showing off his colours, to watch the Anfield side in training on their Far East tour.
Unsurprisingly the young man was baited into removing the offending shirt by about 1,000 Malaysians.

And although he eventually succumbed to chants of ‘buka, buka!’ (take it off) - when his rivals' gear was forced on him, it proved too much.
The youngster - who definitely looked old enough to know better - sat and sulked for a few painful seconds before deciding enough was enough, and bolted through the Kop faithful to the nearest exit door.

But, in the end, he may have thought the humiliation was worth it when Mr Rooney himself cited him on his Twitter account.
'The lad who went to watch Liverpool train in mufc top with my name on the back is a legend,' the man himself wrote to his 1million or so followers.

Aww…I remain United Forever!
