Gracious Father,
As we begin a new month, please lead us the way in which we should go.  You see each and everyone of us, where we are at, what we are doing, what we say, what we think...in our mind and what is in our heart.  Whatever is not suppose to be, Lord we ask that you remove it, in Jesus name.  We know that sanctification is a life-time process and what you start you always finish.  Let us remain in your will and seek your advice above all others.  We know that this life is different and will be very different from that in Heaven.  Yes, we are to enjoy this journey of life because there is nothing quite like it but we are not suppose to forget our brothers and sisters.  We stand together in prayer for those in Abuja, Nigeria.  Let your will be done in the lives of those that love you...in Jesus name.  Those that do not know you yet, Father God, we pray that they come to know you before it's too late, in Jesus name, amen.

Proverbs 12:19-20
The lip of truth shall be established for ever: but a lying tongue is but for a moment.  Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine evil: but to the counsellors of peace is joy.

There are many everywhere, including us here at naijapals who continues to pray for Lagos.  God's people in Lagos continues daily to reach out to those who do not know Jesus Christ.  Just because you don't see it, doesn't mean nothing is happening.

Do you know what is happening in the hearts and lives of every person in Lagos?  No, you don't.  But God does, and what's important to God, may not be or seem important to us.  Though is very important and instrumental in getting one to where they need to be to receive God's blessings, so that they can also bless others.

Nigerian Christian Movie Gist

Storms of Life:
This movie moved me to tears many times, it is so very good.  It's a story about a family; husband, wife and a senior son and daughter and two younger kids.  The father had a good job and all the needs of the family were met.  The family had a nice home, autos, and all the niceties money can buy.  The senior son was studying law at the university.  Soon the daughter (2nd oldest) joined the senior brother at the university.  The family should have been a very a happy family, seeing how all their financial needs were taken care of, right?  But you know what?  The family was not happy.  Do you know why?  The father did not appreciate his wife or respect her.  The father ran around with different girls/women, which put the wife at risk also.  Then at the slightest cause, he beat his wife, while the kids heard/witnessed it.  The father was also too harsh on his kids, especially the senior son.  One day the father was using the wife as a punching bag, and the son stepped in.  The son held back what was in his mind to do, and the father now sent the senior son out of the home.  The senior son joined a cult.  Then the son and some other boys raped some girls in the hostel.  For this, the son was expelled from the university.  The others involved were from another cult, thought he was the only one expelled from the university.  So, now the son's cult group targeted the boy who gave statement against him.  They beat the boy near death.  They were caught by the police.  The senior son was taken to jail.  Police officer's invited the father to jail but did not tell him why.  What a shock!  The police brings out his senior son and now narrates what the son did in the father's presence.  The son was charged with rape, cultism and attempted murder.  The son was filled with so much anger, he said the father did not show him love, the father turned his mom into a punching bag and that he was a bad example of a father.  The senior son now spit in his father's face...saying he does not have a father.  While all this is happening, the sister was swayed by the bad girls on campus.  She now finds herself pregnant and tries to abort the pregnancy by taking some hard drugs.  The girl nearly died and she damaged some of her vital organs.  The daughter is now in the hospital and the father receives word and goes to see her.  When the father speaks to the doctor privately and shares all that is happening in his life.  The doctor says that he is going through a serious storm of life.  The father agreed.  The doctor now told him about someone who can rebuke the storms of life, and bring calm and peace in to his life.  When the doctor now told him it was Jesus Christ.  The father said he doesn't like the Bible and asked the doctor not to preach to him.  The father continued talking, and the doctor now said something that was mentioned in the Bible.  The doctor talked about those that reject Jesus Christ.  How calamity will befall them and their destruction is inescapable.  The father asked, who said this and the doctor told him, Jesus Christ of Nazareth.  The doctor asked the father how he felt when his own son rejected him.  The father said it hurt him because he loves his son.  The doctor now said to the father, this is also how our heavenly Father feels when the ones he calls reject him.  All these thoughts stayed with the father, and that night, the father took responsibility for everything that was happening to his family.  He asked for forgiveness and him and his wife gave their life to Jesus Christ. The next day, the father went to the jail with his wife, and asked his son to forgive him.  The son forgave his father and gave his life to Jesus Christ.  Though, for his crimes the son had to serve 5 years in prison.  The daughter too asked her family and God to forgive her and also gave her life to Jesus Christ.  The father thanked God, our Heavenly Father for telling the storms of life that were about to destroy his family...peace, be still.

{Life Note:  We do so many things to ourselves, some even go as far as to blame God.  When one does not do what one is suppose to such as a father, mother, brother, sister, etc. the enemy looks for ways to use it negatively to affect others through the one.  When strife (conflict) is in the home, it opens the doors (and windows) to every evil work of satan.}

Mark 4:39
And he {Jesus} arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.

Wonderful Father,
We give you honor and praise...Jehovah!  There is no one like you!  Many put themselves in harms way every day, and also put their family in harms way every day.  Many of us make decisions with very costly consequences...help us Father, we need you always.  You are ever so faithful, thank you for loving us as you do. Lord, let us act in faith, doing as you instruct...no matter how things look in the physical.  You alone are the Alpha and the Omega, and you see from beginning to end.  It is you alone we trust and no other.  Thank you Father God...in the name of Jesus, amen.

I have been continuing to read the book by T.H., "Primary Purpose: Making it Hard for People to God to Hell From Your City".

Truly, this is the primary purpose of the believer and follower of Jesus Christ.  It is for this reason that we remain on earth once we are saved.  We are suppose to be making it very hard for people to go to hell from our city.

In order to step into our primary purpose, we must first belong to God.  Through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, different areas of our life will be examined and purged.  Don't allow the devil to trick you, remember it is a life-time process.  It's not a comfortable process but know that what God does in this process will not steal, kill or destroy us mentally, physically, emotionally or spiritually.  At times, we may tell ourselves we are not ready, somtimes we ignore, other times we stand still when we're suppose to be moving and many times we may turn and go another direction.  But, God will not give any other instructions past the last disobeyed instruction.  Whatever God lays on ones heart to deal with, it is for the good of the person always.  So, to get to where we need to be, we must be obediant.  Step out on faith...and just do it.  If you miss it, just go back and correct it...praying that you still have time to do so.  We all miss the mark at times but don't just leave it that way.  Trace back to when things were on track, and ask God to show you where you went wrong.  He will surely show you, but once he does...take action.  Whether it's to ask for someone's forgiveness, whether it is to sincerely forgive someone who has offended you, whether it is to bless an enemy who has tried to derail your destiny, whether it be sins of immorality or secret sins, etc., face it, deal with it but don't ignore it.  Whatever it may be... know there is a good reason why God has laid it before you.  Trust him and obey, things will work out like they are suppose to when we do.

Many are praying for God to use them, but may not see anything take place.  What might be better to pray is for God to please make us usable.  In doing so, it is also inline with assisting one in becoming usable by God.

In our strive to becoming usable, we must do a self-examination of ourself, life, speech, manner, etc. to see if they line up with the word of God.  It's not easy, and it is sometimes painful to confess some of the things we have done, not done or thought of doing.  If one is serious about becoming usable, then one must get serious and do a self-examination.  Whatever needs to be removed, just call on God to help, he is always there...always.

Luke 6:42
How can you think of sayaing, "Brother, let me help you get rid of that speck in your eye,"  when you can't see past the log in your own eye!  Hypocrite!  First get rid of the log from your own eye; then perhaps you will see well enough to deal with the speck in your brother's eye.
(NLT)

Luke 6:42
Either how canst thou say to thy brother, Brother, let me pull out the mote that is in thine eye, when thou thyself beholdest not the beam that is in thine own eye? Thou hypocrite, cast out first the beam out of thine own eye, and then shalt thou see clearly to pull out the mote that is in thy brother's eye.
(KJV)  Mote= is a very small particle; a speck.

It is being asked of us, how can we pull a small speck out of our brother's eye, when we can not even see clearly because of the beam/log in our own eye.  We need to take care of what is not right with us, so that we may also help our brothers and sisters.  Self-examination is very necessary as a Christian.

In Matthew 7:12 (The Golden Rule), it reads:
Do for others what you would like them to do for you.  This is a summary of all that is taught in the law and the prophets.

Are we really living life according to the golden rule?

Master God,
Lord we love you.  Let us take the steps necessary, so that we are exactly where you want us to be.  Father God, touch those in authority in Abuja...in Jesus name.  Touch those in the government, placed in leadership positions...in Jesus name.  Many know what is right and what is wrong; and still choose wrong.  Many are blindsided by material things that will never ever leave this earth.  Heavenly Father, we pray that their focus and priorities be corrected in Jesus name.  We pray for endurance, strength and protection of those who are staying strong against the swift current of selfishness....in Jesus name.   God bless them in every area of their life...in the faithful name of Jesus Christ.  Great God we hail you...!

The Strait Gate

Luke 13:22-30 (KJV)
22And he went through the cities and villages, teaching, and journeying toward Jerusalem.

23Then said one unto him, Lord, are there few that be saved? And he said unto them,

24Strive to enter in at the strait gate: for many, I say unto you, will seek to enter in, and shall not be able.

25When once the master of the house is risen up, and hath shut to the door, and ye begin to stand without, and to knock at the door, saying, Lord, Lord, open unto us; and he shall answer and say unto you, I know you not whence ye are:

26Then shall ye begin to say, We have eaten and drunk in thy presence, and thou hast taught in our streets.

27But he shall say, I tell you, I know you not whence ye are; depart from me, all ye workers of iniquity.

28There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when ye shall see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, and you yourselves thrust out.

29And they shall come from the east, and from the west, and from the north, and from the south, and shall sit down in the kingdom of God.

30And, behold, there are last which shall be first, and there are first which shall be last.

Luke 13:22-30 (NLT)
22 Jesus went through the towns and villages, teaching as he went, always pressing on toward Jerusalem. 23 Someone asked him, “Lord, will only a few be saved?”

He replied, 24 “Work hard to enter the narrow door to God’s Kingdom, for many will try to enter but will fail. 25 When the master of the house has locked the door, it will be too late. You will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Lord, open the door for us!’ But he will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ 26 Then you will say, ‘But we ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’ 27 And he will reply, ‘I tell you, I don’t know you or where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil.’

28 “There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, for you will see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the Kingdom of God, but you will be thrown out. 29 And people will come from all over the world—from east and west, north and south—to take their places in the Kingdom of God. 30 And note this: Some who seem least important now will be the greatest then, and some who are the greatest now will be least important then.[a]”

Dear Heavenly Father,

Bless the hearers and doers of your word.  There are many in Abuja that stand on your Holy word.  They face heavy opposition not only in the physical realm, but in the spiritual realm as well.  Greater is He that is in us, than he who is in the world.  Lord, we send prayers to uplift them, strengthen and encourage them in Jesus name.  We pray that extra angels be with them when they are going and coming, in Jesus name.  May a hedge of protection keep them and their family safe morning, noon and night, in the wonderful name of Jesus Christ.  I Am, we thank and we praise you now and forever more.  Thank you for answering our prayers in Jesus name.

There is this excellent Christian movie that I watched yesterday, the name is Haunting Shadows

One may experience every spectrum of emotions while watching this movie.  It touches the very issues that those who are still spiritually dead believe, as well as share cautions for Christians.  The movie is a visual demonstration of our purpose, which is to make it hard for people to go to hell from our city.  I will not narrate the movie here because it is a MUST SEE movie for the unsaved and the saved.  However, there are a few truths said in the movie that touched me and I would like to share:

-We all have our shadows of the past which threatens our present and aims to destroy the future.
-SIN CAN NOT DIE.
-Many think their terrible sins are buried, until they raise from the grave suddenly and bite the person.
-Every sin committed in life, no matter the number of years, can still rise up and sting the person that committed it, in the future.
-Hidden sins will ALWAYS expose themselves at unexpected times.  Secret sins are as destructive as open sins.  Sins can not die, it is only the power of the blood of Jesus that can wipe them away.
-Un-confessed sins can consume the person and their life.
-The ONLY power potent enough to destroy the power of sin…is the BLOOD OF JESUS CHRIST.

Proverbs 28:13... He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

Isaiah 1:18...18Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

1John 1:8-9...If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

>>>>>Do you want to be free from your past guilt and heavy burdens of past sins?<<<<<<

How can I receive forgiveness and eternal life through Jesus Christ?

1.  Admit you are a sinner.
2.  Repent-turn away from sin.
3.  Believe that Jesus Christ died for you, was buried and rose from the dead.
(Romans 10:9-10...That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.)
4.  Invite Jesus into your life and to become your personal Savior through prayer.
(Romans 10:13...For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.)
-Savior means, one who delivers from trouble, sin or judgment.
-Saved means, rescue or preserve from danger, deliver from sin.

The Prayer:

Dear God,
I am a sinner and need forgiveness.  Please forgive me all my sins.  I believe Jesus Christ
shed His precious blood for me, died for my sins and rose on the 3rd day.  Jesus I invite you to come into my heart and into my life as my personal Savior.  Thank you Jesus for saving me, amen.

If you have said this prayer:
You are saved and is a new creation…amen!
All of heaven is rejoicing for YOU!
You are welcome to the family of God.

You now have new life!
Just as a baby can not be born today and began to do everything adults do, it is the same for those who are babies in Jesus Christ.

To help you grow and learn about Jesus:
1.  Read the Bible (many say an older KJV or King James Version) everyday.
2.  Talk to God in prayer everyday.
3.  Fellowship/attend a Bible believing and doing Church. A church that believe the Bible is the final authority.  And be baptized.

Lord Jesus,
Thank you for the living witness…the Comforter, the Holy Spirit.  You have saved us by dying on the cross for all of our sins…past, present and future.  How you must love us so, even more than we love ourselves.  We allow ourselves to get caught up in the trappings of this world.  We focus on money, status, vanity, self, etc. which can easily move us into arrogance, pride, non-compassion, hardness of heart, etc.  Oh God, thank you for offering to us free, new life in Jesus Christ.  Thank you so very much for this gift we don’t even deserve, but you willingly gave to us because you love us and want us close to you.  Highest praise to you Jehovah…hallelujah!  You have saved us through the precious blood on Jesus Christ, our Messiah and our Redeemer!  We are forever grateful and thankful…in Jesus name, amen.

Happy Sunday

Today I would like to share a devotion from Greg Laurie's ministry.  (Used by permission from Harvest Ministries with Greg Laurie, PO Box 4000, Riverside, CA 92514.)

True Conversion

"And when people escape from the wicked ways of the world by learning about our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and then get tangled up with sin and become its slave again, they are worse off than before."
2 Peter 2:20

Sometimes we hear about well-known people who claim to have made a commitment to Jesus Christ. Often, it is around election time. When they address Christians, they speak of their great faith in God. After the elections, we seldom hear about it again.

Then there are people who say they are believers, but a month or two later, they go back to their old ways again. They say, "I tried Christianity, but it didn't work for me." But in reality, they never really found Christ.

Others will turn to God when they hit hard times. Awhile later, you see them going back to their old ways, and you wonder what happened. I would suggest that many of these people never were converted at all. They went through the motions, but Jesus Christ never became a part of their lives. Often, they end up worse than before.

When Jesus Christ truly comes into our lives, He takes up residence. And He doesn't just do a basic housecleaning; He does a thorough one. There is real change. But when a house has only been swept, that is, when someone has made only moral changes, he or she is still vulnerable to the enemy. This is why we must recognize the futility of simply turning over a new leaf or making a few new resolutions. We must realize the problem is deeper than our moral sins. We must get to the heart of the matter and have Jesus Christ take residence in our lives and change us from the inside out.

Almighty God,
We want to be real with you and ourselves.  We don't want deception, we want reality which you give.  Jesus we want the destiny that you have prepared for us...in Jesus name.  Bless the youth of Abuja.  They are in a spiritual war and many of them do not have any spiritual weapons.  Through you, the youth can do great things to change the Abuja, to change Nigeria.  Father God, through you they have everything they need to see victory.  Lord Jesus, let your people in Abuja who are not busy, get busy!  There are many waiting to receive what only they have.   Please send extra angels around those youth who are standing boldly on your word and living according to your standards, in Jesus name.  We ask all these things in prayer, in the name of Jesus, amen.

If you have sincerely accepted Jesus Christ into your heart and life.  Know you are now a child of God.  Thank Jesus as often as you wish for saving you.  ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Jesus started his earthly ministry, immediately after, the enemy came to try and tempt Jesus.  Do you know what is the ultimate deception the devil used?  It will be the very same deception he will also try with New Believers in Jesus Christ (In fact all believers).

It is doubt.

The devil came to Jesus with the goal of trying to cause Jesus to doubt that he was the Son of God.

Matthew 4:1-11

Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.
And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.
And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.  4But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.  Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,
And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.  Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.  Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.  Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.  Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him.

Every time, Jesus replied satan with scriptures.  The devil himself even quoted scripture, it seems, but the devil twisted it in a way to try and convince Jesus to act or prove to him that he was the Son of God.  Of course, Jesus knew He was and is the Son of God.  Every attempt of the devil failed…and satan went away.

Please understand, the devil will surely come around to try and remind you of your past sins that have been purged.  The devil will try to remind you of some vices and bad habits in your life.  He will even bring old friends around, even those from distant past, who knew you when you were a non-believer.  Just remember,  Jesus Christ has done everything for us.  You are a new creature…the old has passed away.

2 Corinthians 5:17-18
Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.  And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;

A baby is not born walking, talking and with knowledge.  It’s a process…a growing process.  And, so it is in the life of a New Believer in Jesus Christ (a baby Christian).  Read your Bible everyday and you will gain knowledge, faith and understanding.  The Bible, the word of God is your spiritual weapon.  Trust God and stand on the promises God gives in the Bible.  Anytime the devil comes to speak in your ear…just say any of God’s words that come to your heart and mind…in Jesus name, and the devil will flee.  As well attend a Bible believing and doing church...the encouragement, strength and uplifting one receives from other believers is remarkable.

Below are some scriptures to help equip you. {It is very good to read them aloud also}

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Romans 10:9
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

Isaiah 40:29-31
He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.

Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Romans 8:37-39

Proverbs 1:33
But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

John 14:27
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

2 Corinthians 7:1
Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

2 Peter 1:3,4
According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue: Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust. {Again 4.And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.}

>>> God’s promises are wonderful and powerful!  Hold onto them and do not let go. <<<

It is God’s promises given to us His children that enable us to walk faithfully and victoriously.  All of God’s promises He fulfills.

None of his promises are of private interpretation, nor belongs to only one saint but God’s promises belong to all believers.

Trust in the Ever-living God through Jesus Christ…His power is the ultimate.

As Christians, we are to gain strength, knowledge and faith through the reading of God's word, the Bible.  It is even a great idea to read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, so that the living witness that is on the inside of every true Christian can bring to remembrance and part at any time.  I am in the process of reading the Old Testament.  The Old Testament of the Bible has so much history, knowledge and prophecies.  I am currently reading the book of Jeremiah.  It has been most interesting.  There is something that happened in Chapters 42 and 43, which seem to have stayed on my mind.

Israel was the nation serving the One true God, I Am.  God was their King but they wanted a king like all the other nations had.  King Saul was Israel's first king.  In the end, King Saul had to be removed from leadership.  In instances, Israel would dabble in idolatry...worshiping hand made images, etc.  God warned them so many times and they repented so many times.  It got to a point where the influence of idol worshiping was massive in the land.  Though many were worshiping idols and images made with their hands, there were always those who remained faithful to God.  No matter what was happening, God always had people.

Then it happened.  Israel/Judah was judged for the sins of idolatry.  It was a serious judgment upon the people and the land; and they were sent into exile.  It was while they were in exile that this incident occurred.

There was a remnant (few people left who gathered together) where the prophet Jeremiah was, in Judah.  This remnant asked Jeremiah to please pray to his God, and beg whether or not they should say in Judah or whether they should go to Egypt.  They asked  Jeremiah ask God to show them what to do.  Jeremiah told them he would pray to their God and tell them everything God says, he won't hide a thing from them.  In about 10 days, God gave Jeremiah the reply.  God told the remnant they they should say in Judah.  If they remained in Judah, God will build them up; not tear them down.   But, if they refused to obey, judgment would follow them to Egypt.  None of them would escape, nor be free from war, famine and disease; they will all die there.  Jeremiah told the remnant what God said.  The remnant turned around and said what Jeremiah told them was a lie.  That the Lord did not forbid them from going to Egypt!

In Jeremiah 42:19-22, Jeremiah is talking to the remnant:
Listen, you remnant of Judah.  The Lord had told you:  'Don't go to Egypt!'  Don't forget the warning I have given you today.  For you were deceitful when you sent me to pray to the Lord for you, saying, 'Just tell us what the Lord our God says, and we will do it!  And today I  have told you exactly what he said, but you will not obey the Lord your God any better now than you have in the past.  So you can be sure that you will die from war, famine and disease in Egypt, where you insist on going."

The remnant went to Egypt and we all know what happened to them.  Judgment followed them...war, famine and disease and they all died there.

It struck me that, we all do the very same thing unfortunately.  We ask God, He tells us the best for us; and we turn around and do another thing.  We tell ourselves we can survive the risk of disobeying God, but it is in a sense choosing death, choosing to die.  Why don't we listen?  Then idolatry came to mind.  Many of us don't listen because we have stepped into idolatry or a form of self-worship.  Is it because we think we know better than God.  Many worship false gods every single day.  Idols are not just graven images people make with their hands, that demons use to control people, their life, etc. and then destroy them.  Idols can be anything we set in our minds in God's place.  Money, men, women, status, husbands, wives, perverted segxwal desires, cars, houses, etc. all of these can be idols or a form of idolatry.  We all have to pull down or not allow any idols to form in our lives, no matter which country we live in.

Praise God, hallelujah......those of us in Jesus have the power to destroy such!  Glory to God those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ in no longer under the law which awards judgment for sins committed.  Jehovah thank you that those of us who have accepted Jesus Christ is covered in the blood of Jesus and receive grace.  God's people are to have nothing to do with idolatry in any form.  Those who are not alive in Jesus Christ are still under the law...still under judgment.

There is only one true God.  There is only one God whose true nature is God.  The Lord God Almighty, Jehovah, I Am...is the only God worthy to be praised, for He alone is God.

Sovereign God,
Our heart's rejoice and is filled with joy, for you are a God of life, love and justice.  Father you teach us and guide us the way we should go...which is the way to truth and eternal life.  Please forgive us all our sins; we remove and destroy every idol that we have allowed to be set up in our lives (mind and heart)...in Jesus name.  We sever all ties, destroy all bonds, annul, and break all ungodly covenants, oaths and pledges made with our lips, in Jesus name.  We renounce all in Jesus name and command all demons that claim any legal right through covenants to come out/GO, in Jesus name.  All covenants made with false gods, demons through the occult involvement or witchcraft are broken and annulled in Jesus name.  All spirit marriages that would cause incubus and succubus demons to attacks are broken and annulled in Jesus name.  We have a covenant with God through the blood of Jesus Christ.  We am joined to the Lord, and we am one spirit with Him.  We break all ungodly covenants and enter into (or renew) our covenant with God through the body and blood of Jesus Christ.  Mighty God...giver of life, freedom and salvation, we thank you in the Holy name of Jesus, amen.

The Lord placed this subject on my heart to share this moring.

The question:
Is it not good for others to read the word of God, the Bible, in their own language?

The answer:
It is good.  It is very good, as long as the translation is accurate and complete.

As well as different languages, there are different Bible versions.  The best way to compare Bible versions is to read the same passage in each version.  I personally prefer the King James version for reading and memorization, but at times I do comparison with the New Living Translation (earlier published).

Here is the issue present today.
There are many Bible versions that have copyrights and trademarks. There are usually conditions for one to keep copyrights and trademarks.  I read once that for some to keep the copyrights and trademarks, something MUST be changed in that version.  In some cases, what is being changed also changes the message.  In other instances, even some scriptures are omitted completed.  This is very dangerous.  It is dangerous on so many levels but the end result is that the reader no longer has the living-word of God, the Good News through the power of Jesus Christ.  They now have something else.   And when it comes time to stand on the power of that something else against the attacks of the devil, and the time will surely come, they will not stand.  The person will be damaged or destroyed in the attack and/or they will come to a false conclusion that God is not who He says He is.  Thus, turning their back on the very one they need to empower and protect them; God, while at the same time leaving themselves wide-open to whatever the devil chooses to fill them with...and this is the devil's mission.  It's a terrible terrible thought.

Hosea 4:6
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge:...

We will not be destroyed for lack of knowledge...in Jesus name.

Though the devil tries to copy and pervert every good thing that God has done, what the devil does is still temporary and false...it will not last.

Trust God...only He saves.

Magestic God,
You keep us and preserve us in the most amazing way.  Thank you for sharing with us all that we need to know.  In these times, so many strange things are happening everywhere.  But you tell us not to fear and to keep our eyes on you...and this is what we strive to do, in Jesus name.  There are many people in Abuja trying to fill their lives with what only you can give them.  Lord, we pray that they look up to you before it is too late, in Jesus name.  Bless all your children everywhere in the name of Jesus Christ, the Prince of Peace.

No Room for Prejudice

Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them.
Acts 8:5

Being an effective communicator of the gospel requires a willingness to reach out to people who are different from you. We tend to want to hang around people who look like us, who talk like us, and who are just like us. But how willing are we to leave our comfort zone and go to a person completely different from us with the message of the gospel?

To put it another way, are we willing to acknowledge that all prejudice is wrong? Everyone needs Jesus, and we need to go without embarrassment and share the gospel with them. We can talk all day about how to do evangelism effectively. We can go to classes on how to share our faith and read books about it. We can memorize a list of conversation-starters that can help turn a conversation toward evangelism. All these things are good. But none of them will matter if we don't care about others. People can tell whether or not we care about them. Even a dog can tell. And a person will know whether you are sharing the gospel out of sincerity or a mere sense of duty.

The Bible gives us the example of Philip, who had a heart for unbelievers. Along with Stephen and others, he was called to be a deacon in the church. And when Stephen was martyred and Saul of Tarsus began to attack Christians, where did Philip go? To Samaria. Philip was a Jew, yet he went to Samaria. This was significant, because Jews hated Samaritans, and Samaritans hated Jews. Yet Philip went to these people, people whom Jews normally would not speak to, much less want to reach.

May God give us compassion for people who do not yet know Him. Philip had that, and we should too.

Dear Heavely Father,
There are so many different groups of people and single individuals that continue to fight against what you have planned for others in this life.  Some do it for selfish and ill-desires, while others believe actually going to war with God will be in their favor.  It's delusion.  Many say they are harming others in the name of justice, but how can it be justice when innocent people are dying?  It's deception.  Lord, we the warriors of the Messiah, Jesus Christ, all stand against, cancel and destroy all such plans against the innocent, in the almighty name of Jesus.  Master God, thank you for the great love you give to us.  We pray in the awesome name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, amen.

A Hymn of Praise to the Lord

Jeremiah 51:15-19
15He hath made the earth by his power, he hath established the world by his wisdom, and hath stretched out the heaven by his understanding.  16When he uttereth his voice, there is a multitude of waters in the heavens; and he causeth the vapours to ascend from the ends of the earth: he maketh lightnings with rain, and bringeth forth the wind out of his treasures. 17Every man is brutish by his knowledge; every founder is confounded by the graven image: for his molten image is falsehood, and there is no breath in them.  18They are vanity, the work of errors: in the time of their visitation they shall perish.  19The portion of Jacob is not like them; for he is the former of all things: and Israel is the rod of his inheritance: the LORD of hosts is his name.  (KJV)

Abba,
You are not the author of confusion.  Your ways are proper, decent and in order.  Why do so many continue to try and blame you for what they are not doing; or for what they are doing that is bringing pains to their life?  Jehovah, you gave to us your word and it contains everything we need to know in order to live a good life now and after.  We Christians are on the front line everyday...we are conquerors, we are victorious and through Jesus Christ we can do All things! Amen.   We are suppose to be about God's business, espeically in this time.  We are suppose to be a light to those in darkness, leading them to life in Jesus, the Messiah.  The lost, those who have rejected Jesus, they do not realise what is waiting for them.  They do not realise that sin has to be dealth with once and for all.  Those who are not with God are against God...there is no inbetween  Father, we know you don't want any to perish and you are waiting out of love for mankind.  Let your people be about your business in Abuja, Nigeria and everywhere in Jesus name.  Thank you for covering us with the blood of Jesus, Lord we praise your name for you alone are worhty to be praised.  Father we, your children, stand in one accord in Jesus name, amen.

Matthew 24:14
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.

Proverbs 1

1The proverbs of Solomon the son of David, king of Israel; 2To know wisdom and instruction; to perceive the words of understanding; 3To receive the instruction of wisdom, justice, and judgment, and equity; 4To give subtilty to the simple, to the young man knowledge and discretion.  5A wise man will hear, and will increase learning; and a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels: 6To understand a proverb, and the interpretation; the words of the wise, and their dark sayings. 7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.  8My son, hear the instruction of thy father, and forsake not the law of thy mother: 9For they shall be an ornament of grace unto thy head, and chains about thy neck.  10My son, if sinners entice thee, consent thou not.  11If they say, Come with us, let us lay wait for blood, let us lurk privily for the innocent without cause:   12Let us swallow them up alive as the grave; and whole, as those that go down into the pit: 13We shall find all precious substance, we shall fill our houses with spoil: 14Cast in thy lot among us; let us all have one purse: 15My son, walk not thou in the way with them; refrain thy foot from their path: 16For their feet run to evil, and make haste to shed blood. 17Surely in vain the net is spread in the sight of any bird.  18And they lay wait for their own blood; they lurk privily for their own lives.  19So are the ways of every one that is greedy of gain; which taketh away the life of the owners thereof.  20Wisdom crieth without; she uttereth her voice in the streets:  21She crieth in the chief place of concourse, in the openings of the gates: in the city she uttereth her words, saying,
22How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and fools hate knowledge?
23Turn you at my reproof: behold, I will pour out my spirit unto you, I will make known my words unto you.  24Because I have called, and ye refused; I have stretched out my hand, and no man regarded; 25But ye have set at nought all my counsel, and would none of my reproof: 26I also will laugh at your calamity; I will mock when your fear cometh;  27When your fear cometh as desolation, and your destruction cometh as a whirlwind; when distress and anguish cometh upon you.  28Then shall they call upon me, but I will not answer; they shall seek me early, but they shall not find me:  29For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD:  30They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof.  31Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.  32For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.  33But whoso hearkeneth unto me shall dwell safely, and shall be quiet from fear of evil.

Father God,
Bless the hearer and doer of your word, in Jesus name, amen.  We thank you for blessing us in all the ways that you do.  We thank you for our food, clothes and shelter.  We thank you for watching over us as we slept through the night so that no hurt, harm or danger came to us.  We thank you Jesus for watching over us as we come in and go out.  Bless our family and friends near and far.  Lord, you know each of their needs, let them be met in Jesus name.  Master God, those that are still in darkness, let them find your light...let them find you before it is too late in Jesus name.  Father, bless the youth all over the land, in Jesus name.  Let them seek and find you, in Jesus name.  You have some mighty work planned through them!  We stand in the gap for them, cover them in the blood of Jesus Christ.  Protect them from those who seek to harm them, in Jesus name.   Abba, we give glory to you and no other.  We ask theses things in Jesus name, Lord of lord and King of kings, amen.

Proverbs 5

My son, attend unto my wisdom, and bow thine ear to my understanding: That thou mayest regard discretion, and that thy lips may keep knowledge.  For the lips of a strange woman drop as an honeycomb, and her mouth is smoother than oil: But her end is bitter as wormwood, sharp as a two-edged sword.  Her feet go down to death; her steps take hold on hell.  Lest thou shouldest ponder the path of life, her ways are moveable, that thou canst not know them.  Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth.  Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger; And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me! I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly. Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets.  Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee.  Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth.  Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her Bosom s satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love.  And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?  For the ways of man are before the eyes of the LORD, and he pondereth all his goings.  His own iniquities shall take the wicked himself, and he shall be holden with the cords of his sins.  He shall die without instruction; and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray.

Father God,
Let us all heed to your instructions.  You tell us the right way to go because you love us and do not want us to suffer the consequences that sin in our lives bring.  Jesus, thank you for being our righteousness.  We are redeemed through your precious blood.  Through you we have the power to live a life pleasing to God, through you we have the power to overcome sin.  We can not do it on our own, nor do you expect us to do it on our own.  Jesus we thank you for being with us and strengthening us through everything.  Thank you for exposing and destroying all the schemes of the enemy.  We are forever grateful to you.  Thank you Jesus, our Prince of Peace, our Saviour.

Lessons for Daily Life

Proverbs 6:6-19
Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.  How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.  A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.  He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord. Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him:  A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren.

Eternal Father,
We praise and magnify your Holy name. We thank you for keeping us in your love and care morning, noon and night.  We thank you for the many ways you show your love to us, even when we are not aware of your provisions and protection.  Let us begin each day with rejoicing and with praises to you in our heart and on our lips.  Father God, we commit this day and every day to you, in Jesus name.  Help those in Abuja, Nigeria...help us everywhere keep you uppermost in our thoughts; and help us to magnify and glorify your magnifiscent name in all that we do and say.  We stand in one accord and pray in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, amen.

Accursed Children:
I recently watched this movie that addresses the issue of those who try to use God's church for financial gain, even to the point of stealing tithes and offerings.

It starts with one large church in Lagos.  The senior pastor, Pastor David, is serious about God's work and does things that are line with the Bible.  Many healings took place and the church family was blessed.  The assistant pastor, Pastor Joshua, began to put his eyes on the amount of money coming into the church.  There was an offering raised to support missionaries in the field, and the church gave approximately 1.2 million naira.  Pastor David said ALL will be given to the missionaries who are in the field because that is what it was taken in for.  The missinoaries rely on support from their church.  Pastor Joshua became upset, as he did not want to give all this money to the purpose for which it was collected...those on the mission field.  There was one pastor who was in control of pastor personnel and in charge of pastor's transfers from one location to another.  Pastor Joshua paid the personnel pastor to transfer Pastor David to one small church, so that he would now become Senior Pastor of the church in Lagos.  Pastor David did not understand the transfer, but he accepted it in the right spirit, willing to serve God where ever he was sent to.  The very first day Pastor David was to preach Sunday service at the new church, he healed a mad man.  It was broadcasted on the television.  Meanwhile, Pastor Joshua back in Lagos, was not doing very well leading the church.  The congregation was not being fed spiritually and there was a decline in every of the church.  He was realizing that he was not equipped to be in that position, neither did God put him there.  The main overseer for the church was also striving to live for God.  He had been looking for a deputy overseer for two years but God told him to wait, he will show him the man.  God had also been speaking to the Pastor Overseer that some sins were being committed by some of his pastors.  Then fire on the mountain!!!!  The pastor who was taking brides to transfer pastors here and there had a very terrible dream.  In the dream, a man dressed in black came into his bedroom.  Asked him, did he not fear God?  Asked if he was taking brides and using the position God gave him to make his bank account fat?  The pastor admitted, yes, he was doing it.  The wife came in the room, 'bam', the man in black shot the wife.  The pastor began pleading for the man not to kill him, but the man in black now shot the pastor in his chest.  The pastor woke up shouting.  Though, he did not repent.  He asked his wife to call the Pastor Overseer and ask him to please come.  When the Pastor Overseer came and began to pray, the Holy Spirit told him that the pastor must confess what he did or else he will die; and his wife will die too.  At Pastor Joshua's house, there was no longer any peace between he and his wife.  The daughter came into the bedroom telling her father she did not feel fine, Pastor Joshua told his daughter to go see her mother.  As she was leaving the room, she yelled and fell down.  She was rushed to the hospital.  In the middle of Pastor Joshua rushing home to get 60,000 naira for his daughter in the hospital, Pastor Joshua was confronted at his home by a deacon in his church with news that his son has inpregnated his daughter and she was 3 months pregnant for the son.  This pregnancy issue is what kept the pastor from getting to the hospital sooner. His daughter died.  The mom was so much in shock that she had to be sedated.  The pastor over personnel finally repented, he and his wife did not die but he was removed from his position.  Pastor Joshua, immediately after the death of his daughter typed of his resignation letter, and asked God to forgive him and have mercy on him.  He asked to be transferred anywhere as assistant pastor, as assistant pastor is where God called him to be.  Pastor David who was sent to the small church, was told how his transfer came about.   Pastor David was the man God told the Pastor Overseer to wait for.  Pastor David was now placed in the position of Deputy Overseer of the church.  Pastor Joshua was now sent to the small church that he paid to have Pastor David transferred to.  Too amazing!  God's ways are not our ways indeed.

{Life Note:  God it not mocked, it may seem that people are getting away with their wrong doings, stealing money from the church, etc. but they are not. Many of them do not even survive.  Below are some scriptures that were shared in the movie.}[/

2 Peter 2:3
And through covetousness shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingereth not, and their damnation slumbereth not.

2 Peter 2:14-17
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls: an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children:
Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;  But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.  These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever.

Jeremiah 17:11
As the partridge sitteth on eggs, and hatcheth them not; so he that getteth riches, and not by right, shall leave them in the midst of his days, and at his end shall be a fool.

Abba,
Please guide us in all our ways, order our footsteps and help us to rely on you.  Thank you for all of these reminders you are given to us through the drama ministry.  Lord, we pray continued protection and blessings to them as they touch the unsaved and saved with daily life applications of your word.  It is powerful and life-changing!  Lord Jesus we thank you for them and their lives.  Lord, thank you for the grace that you give to us your children.  We ask all in the name of Jesus Christ, the Holy Lamb of God.

I heard this said recently from one other movie, though I can't recall the name at this very moment:   It was said that men have a dual spiritual purpose of priest in their home and watchman over their family.  The moment the man sleeps off at the gate and the enemy sneaks into the home, the enemy can inflict his vengence on anyone in your care.

Numbers chapter 22, 23 and 24

Balak Sends For Balaam
Frightened by the fall of the lands of the Amorites and Bashan, the kings of Moab and Midian, implacable foes for many generations, united for the purpose of a common attack upon the children of Israel. Balak, the newly elected king of Moab, had been put in charge of the plans. Thinking of the surprising victories of the outnumbered troops of the Jewish people, Balak came to the conclusion that these victories could only be attributed to some form of magic. He believed that the only way to destroy the victorious Jews was to outdo them in magic by a spell stronger than theirs.

Balak, therefore, sent messengers to Balaam, the greatest magician of those days, asking him to come to Moab to curse the people of Israel who were threatening to overrun their lands.

Balaam knew that he could not do anything against God's will, and he so informed Balak's envoys, even though his personal hatred of the Jews made him only too willing to follow the call.

However, Balak was persistent. He sent an even more imposing delegation of princes and nobles and promised Balaam more gold and silver. Balaam received the deputation with the respect due to their rank. Regretfully, he told them that even if Balak gave him a full house of gold and silver, he could not go against God's command. He asked them, however, to stay overnight, because only at night was he privileged to receive Divine inspiration. During that night, Balaam had a vision in which he was informed that he might go with Balak's men, but that he was not to say anything save the words that God would put into his mouth.

Balaam's Ass
Balaam rose early in the morning, saddled his ass, and went with the princes of Moab. But God was angry at Balaam's eagerness to do harm to the Jewish people, and He sent an angel to hinder his way, The ass saw the angel of God with a drawn sword, and she tried to evade him by stepping off the path. Balaam, who did not perceive the angel, got angry and hit the ass in order to guide her back to the path. A little while later, the angel with the drawn sword blocked the way on a narrow vineyard path, fenced by walls on either side. Trying to avoid the angel, the ass pressed herself close to the wall, thereby hurting Balaam's foot. Again Balaam hit the ass. Now the angel placed himself squarely across the path where there was no chance of avoiding him, so this time the ass lay down, refusing to move forward. Now Balaam was in such a rage that he savagely hit the ass with his staff for the third time. At this moment, God gave the ass the faculty of speaking. The ass asked the astonished Balaam, why he had beaten her these three times. Her master, stupefied, though still in a rage, replied that he would have killed her, had he only had a sword handy. Yet while Balaam spoke, God opened his eyes, and he saw the angel with the sword drawn in his hand. Balaam bowed in reverence. The Angel told Balaam that it was he who had blocked the way, and that Balaam had done an injustice to the ass. Balaam excused himself, saying that he had not known that God wanted to prevent his trip, and that he was ready to return. But the angel replied that he should continue his journey, remembering to say only that which God would tell him.

Balaam's Blessings
When king Balak heard of Balaam's arrival, he went out to meet him and took the prophet up to the heights sacred to Baal. There they built seven altars, upon each of which they sacrificed an ox and a ram. Then Balaam went alone to a solitary place, hoping to receive the word of the Lord. When he returned to the king, he had beheld a vision, and he felt inspired. He stood near his burnt-offering before Balak and the princes of Moab, and urged by an irresistible impulse, he broke forth into blessings.

"How can I curse whom God has not cursed?" Balaam (Numbers 23/8) exclaimed. He went on to praise the marvelous people which will never lose its identity among the nations of the world, and concluded with the words (Numbers 23:10): "May my soul die the death of the upright and let my end be like his!"

Hearing Balaam's divinely inspired praise of Israel, Balak became angry at Balaam for blessing his enemies, instead of cursing them. Balaam replied that he could say only what God put in his mouth.

Again Balak prepared sacrifices, and Balaam waited for an inspiration to curse the Jewish people. However, God put praise and blessings into his mouth. "God is not a man that He should lie, nor is He a mortal that He should relent. Would He say and not do, speak and not fulfill? I have received [an instruction] to bless, and He has blessed, and I cannot retract it. He does not look at evil in Jacob, and has seen no perversity in Israel; the Lord, his God, is with him..."

The last time Balaam took a full view of Israel's camp, he exclaimed "How goodly are thy tents, 0 Jacob, thy dwellings, 0 Israel! As valleys stretch out, as gardens by the river-side; as aloes planted of the Lord, as cedars beside the waters. Water shall flow from his branches, and his seed shall be in many waters; and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted. God who brought him forth out of Egypt is for him like the lofty horns of the wild-ox; he shall eat up the nations that are his adversaries, and shall break their bones in pieces, and pierce them through with his arrows. He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Blessed be every one that blesseth thee, and cursed be every one that curseth thee."

Now Balak was really angry, and he ordered Balaam to return home. Before he left, however, Balaam told Balak that the only way to harm the people of Israel was to seduce them into sin. For only then would God punish His people.

The kings of Moab and Midian acted upon this shrewd advice of Balaam. They arranged a big feast in honor of their idols and invited the children of Israel to participate in the ceremonies. Many of the Jewish people fell for this ruse and participated in these heathen celebrations. Amongst them was Zimri, a prince of the family of Simeon, who was not ashamed to let the entire Jewish community witness his evil conduct.

Pinehas, the son of Elazar the high priest, was among those who saw Zimri's shameless conduct. In his zeal to defend the honor of the Torah, he took a spear and entered Zimri's tent. Finding the ignoble prince in the company of the daughter of a Midianite prince, he killed them both with one thrust of his spear.

By this brave act, Pinehas stopped the plague which had begun among the children of Israel, and which had taken a toll of many thousands of dead among those who had allowed themselves to be seduced by the Midianites.

Pinehas' action was rewarded by a Divine covenant of peace and everlasting priesthood.

Following the outrageous attempt by the Midianites to seduce the children of Israel into sin, God ordered Moses to declare war against the Midianites and smite them. In the ensuing battle not only did the five princes of Midian fall with their vanquished troops, but also Balaam, the instigator of all this trouble, was slain.  (This account shared by www.chabad.org

God,
You are our provider and source of strength.  We thank you for keeping us and guiding us through this journey of life.  There are many like Balaam wanting to do to others what they should not do.  Why?  For money sake and so many other selfish reasons.  Lord, we, your people everywhere stand against what you stand against; and stand for what you stand for.  The children of Israel were standing on right when Balaam tried to curse them, but God had already blessed them and they were blessed.  Now, Balaam advises the enemy of the children of Israel to seduce them into sin, so God can turn against them.  This is too terrible.  Unfortunately, the children of Israel fell for the trick.  Lord, isn't this the same trick that the devil uses against mankind each and everyday?  He plots to seduce us into sin, thus causing us to leave the protection of the Lord God Almighty.  Let the veil fall from the eyes of those being deceived in Jesus name.  May they accept the love and protection that waits for them in you Jesus.  Jesus we thank you!  We thank you for the power of your blood which destroys the power of sin.  We thank you for making us righteous before God.  Heavenly Father we hail you!  Thank you for hearing and asnwering our prayers in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, amen.
