Former Head of State, General Muhammadu Buhari, has taken a look at Nigeria’s voyage as a nation, saying at 51, Nigeria is not yet a nation. Speaking through his spokesman, Mr. Yinka Odumakin, the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC) in the April 2011 election, noted that at 51, Nigeria is a tale of absurdity, a tale of dashed expectations of rudderless leadership, citing the present security challenge as an example.

“At 51, we are not a nation yet. There is security challenge everywhere. As we prepare for October 1, celebration, Boko Haram is threatening, the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta (MEND) is threatening to bomb everywhere and in the midst of all these, we have a commander-in-chief who said he is not a General, he is not a dictator and he is so clueless about what is to be done to get the public get back to track.

“We have had a situation where the security agencies are shifting blames to themselves. The police, the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), are quarrelling over who released who. Couple with this, is the fact that the economy of Nigeria today is partially dead.

“The only activity going on in Nigeria today is the spending of oil money and corruption. The level of poverty in Nigeria is unimaginable. I have not seen this level of poverty anywhere in the world where a country rated as one of the highest producers of oil in the world, harbours most of the poorest people in this part of the planet,” Buhari said.
Bemoaning the wide gap that exists between the rich and the poor in the country, Buhari further lamented that the gap is widening everyday, saying “the rich are getting richer and the poor, getting poorer.”
He said that with the rate at which Nigeria is going, if care was not taken, a day is coming when all that will be left for the poor to eat in Nigeria is the rich.

At 51, Buhari wished that Nigeria will get its acts right, get responsible leadership, saying Nigeria has stayed for too long under leaders who behave like dogs.
“We need a responsible leadership, we need a new political order based on equity, justice and fair play, where the wealth of the land will be used to satisfy the needs of all Nigerians; where every citizen of Nigeria can aspire to the best height where they will not be limited by the circumstances around them.

“A Nigeria that works, where there is electricity, where there are good roads, where all the infrastructure are functioning. A Nigeria where our children will go to school and learn; a Nigeria where health facilities will be available to all.
We want a Nigeria where people will live peacefully as people of Nigeria rather than enemies fighting themselves. That is my dream for Nigeria,” Buhari stated.

Buhari must be thinking all nigerians are morons, for making this sort of hipocritical comments, this is a guy who vowed to make nigeria ungovernable when he lost an election that was free and fair, a man who by proxy murderd countless southern youth corpers that were in the northern dormain, How can this same guy talk about security lapse, that he buhari instigated in the first place?
I believe it's the intention of the Hausa/Fulani leaders to frustrate and scuttle the rule of president Jonathan,to make him seem incompetent in the eyes of the nigerians and the world, well, that will not be archieved, for people are smarter these days, and will not allow the wool to be pulled over thier eyes anymore, Buhari is clamouring for the presidency so that he can continue his looting where he stoped before,
Nigerian presidency is not a prerogative of the Hausa/fulani people, rather the right of every Nigerian who has the ability to handle the job, irrespective of tribe, gender, geography(so far it is within the confines of Nigeria).
The past hausa/fulani rulers of nigeria, the likes of IBB and ABACHA ,what can they point out as thier achievement? These are men who looted nigeria's wealth and made Nigerians the laughing stock of the world,.
We should all pause and consider, what kind of a president will Buhari be a man,who like a petulant child, instigated the post election riots that killed thousands of innocent Nigerians, a man that dines and deals with terrorists, and uses  the said terrorists as tools of opressions and intimidations against his political rivals,a man whose aim and objective is to cause chaos, pitting all the ethnic groups against one another, this is a man who will feed the insatiable crocodile of militant islam, and bring islamic terrorism storm that threatens us all closer.
