The Bauchi State Police Command, yesterday, paraded one Sani
Hamidu, for allegedly killing his grandchild, Sagiru Abdullahi, at Ashura Rahama
village in the Toro Local Government Area of the State.
Addressing journalists, the State’s Police Commissioner, Ikechukwu Aduba, who
was represented by his deputy, Abdulmajid Ali, said that the accused had cut out
his grandson’s eyes, private part and throat for ritual purposes and dumped the
body in a well inside a bush, from where it was recovered.
According to Ali, the suspect committed the crime with his son, who is now at
large. He also said that the case is under investigation and in due time the
suspects would be charged to court for culpable homicide.
