of Imo State, has been arrested for allegedly defiling a four-year-old girl.
Confirming the incident to journalists, the girl’s father, Mr. Chinedu Anele, gave a graphic account of how his daughter
reported the “sharp pain in her private part”, adding that he quickly took her to a hospital where the doctor confirmed the
rape.
The town union Chairman, Mr. Ifeanyi Ebosie, equally confirmed the incident, adding that the girl’s father produced a
medical report to buttress the case of rape against Nsofor, who heads the vigilante group in the community.
He said: “We had no other option, especially when the accused person could not prove his innocence, than to quickly
report the matter to the traditional ruler.”
It was also gathered that when the matter was reported to the traditional ruler, Justice G.G.I. Orjiako (rtd), he advised the
villagers to handover Mr. Nsofor to the police for proper investigation.
Meanwhile, Vanguard gathered that the accused person was taken to the magistrate court at Abba but the case could
not go on because of the absence of the magistrate.
