The Nigeria Police Force on Thursday declared Kabiru Umar (a.k.a. Kabiru Sokoto) wanted in connection with cases of bombing and terrorism across the Northern States of the Federation, especially the Christmas-Day bombing of a Church at Madalla, Niger State which resulted into wanton destruction of lives and properties.

Kabiru Sokoto, the fleeing Boko Haram suspect.

Kabiru who was arrested last Saturday escaped from a team of Policemen led by Commissioner of Police Zakari Biu the next day when he was taken for a search at his house located in Abaji, a settlement outside Abuja.

Biu and his team have been placed on suspension by the Police over the incident while the Federal Government yesterday also queried Hafiz Ringim, the Inspector General of Police over the disappearance of the suspect.

The Police Chief was given 24 hours to respond to the query. There are however no indications that the Police is making any headway in its ongoing frantic bid to re-arrest the alleged Boko Haram chieftain.

Olusola Amore, force public relations officer in a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday said “Kabiru Umar who hails from Biu, Borno State, was last known to be residing at Bulletin Quarters, Abaji, FCT. He is aged 28 years, fair in complexion and speaks English, Hausa and Arabic languages fluently.

The Police added that it will give “a monetary reward of N50 million for anyone who has useful information regarding whereabouts of the suspect or that will lead to his arrest should please report to the nearest Police Station nationwide.http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2012/01/19/nigeria-police-offers-n50-million-reward-for-information-on-fleeing-boko-haram-chieftain/?utm_source=feed
