The Security issues in Nigeria seem to have triggered concern by international bodies. While, the United Nation recently stated in an aticle to stop giving Aid to Nigeria if measures are not put in place to stop Muslims from persecuting Christians, the European Union has seen the need to providing support for the Nigerian Nation. In respect of this, the Danish Foreign Minister Villy Soevndal was delegated to visit Nigeria for talks with President Goodluck Jonathan and other officials, amid reports of fresh attacks attributed to the Islamist group Boko Haram in the north of the country.

Denmark holds the six-month rotating European Union presidency, and Soevndal was to represent EU Foreign Policy Chief Catherine Ashton, the Danish EU presidency said in a statement.

'Nigeria has recently been plagued by riots and acts of terrorism, and right now it's incredibly important that (the) EU shows solidarity with the Nigerian people,' Soevndal said.
