The Lagos State Police Command has apprehended two men – Charles Umoh and Michael Essiet – for alleged robbery. It was learnt that Essiet, a 27-year-old student of law at the University of Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, Umoh and one Mohammed robbed some bankers of $12,800 as well as other items.
It was gathered that on January 30, 2011, Umoh a driver with a bank in Lagos, was driving the victims when he pretended that the car was faulty.
The Police Public Relations Officer for the state command, Mr. Joseph Jaiyeoba, said Umoh connived with Essiet and Muhammed (at large) to come and rob the victims.
It was gathered that the victims, who suspected Umoh, reported the incident at the Ajao Police Division where Umoh confessed.
Jaiyeoba told our correspondent that Umoh helped the police with investigations which led to the arrest of Essiet.
