The Pharoahs of Egypt, this evening defeated the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a keenly contested friendly match. Stephen Keshi’s side comprised largely of home based players and their play was characterised by quick passing and high pressing at full pace.

Sunday Mba gave Nigeria the lead in the 15th minute, but the Egyptians equalised through Ahmed Temsah. They then went in front with a Mohamed Aboutreika penalty.

Ejike Uzoenyi who was a constant menace in the game then found space to cross for Uche. The Enyimba man still found the net spectacularly, despite being off balance.

The game was heading for a draw until Ahmed Hassan Mekki struck in the dying moments. It was a fine goal, which was the end product of a 30-pass move.

Stephen Keshi will take a lot of positives from his first loss as the coach of the team and some of the electric performances from the local lads.
