The country's economy depends on agriculture, cotton and gold. The country is still reeling from the after effects of a severe drought in 2011 which decimated grazing land and harvests, and the country suffers from rampant unemployment. Even so, things are better than they used to be. According to CIA Factbook, 'The risk of a mass exodus of the three to four million Burkinabé who live and work in Cote D'Ivoire has dissipated and trade, power and transport links are being restored.' |
