Fourth of five children raised by an Edo mother, Lucky Bamidele Dasufoli, better known by his stage name “Echoxap” is a Nigerian singer/songwriter whose 2020 single “Bamidele” launched his career to astronomical heights.

Despite his growing influence and industry connects, Echoxap is a front member of Musical Artists Records Limited, and here, reveals what makes him tick as an entertainer.

GPP: How did you get started in music, and what prompted you to pursue it professionally?
Echoxap: I started dabbling in music around 2006-2008, mainly along friends in Festac. Initially, I was more of a behind-the-scenes supporter, sponsoring and accompanying friends to shows. However, I eventually felt compelled to step into the limelight and record my first single, “Bamidele,” an Afrobeat track, in 2020.

GPP: Have you collaborated with any female artists, and if so, how was the experience?
Echoxap: Yes, collaborating with a female artist was a refreshing experience. It added a new dynamic to my music, and the project turned out well, inspiring me to embrace my identity as Echoxap.

GPP: Who are some artists you aspire to work with in the future?
Echoxap: I would love to collaborate with icons like Wizkid, Burna Boy, Olamide, Davido, Simi, Rema, Neyo, among others.

GPP: What are your thoughts on the Nigerian music industry and its current state?
Echoxap: I believe Nigerian artists should collaborate more to create bigger and better projects, seizing opportunities to elevate the industry.

GPP: If you weren’t pursuing music, what do you think you’d be doing instead?
Echoxap: Without music, I’d likely be fully immersed in business ventures, leveraging my entrepreneurial spirit.

AGEGE RENEWED HOPE MOVEMENT: THIS IS 'MY AGEGE STORY'

By Oki Samson

It is highly unlikely that when a roll call of the historic towns in Lagos is made, Agege will not come within the first five (5). Agege didn't use to be part of Lagos at the Independence of Nigeria in 1960, it was under the defunct Western region. However, with the creation of Lagos State in 1967, it effectively became a city in Lagos.

Alongside its historic significance, the conurbation is also notable for being a cultural melting point for Nigerians of all tribes and religions. First, being on the old narrow-gauge railway, it was a major destination for people, raw materials, cash crops, and other items. By the time, Ikeja became the capital of Lagos State, Agege's nearness made it an automatic choice location for residential purposes for civil servants and staff of banks and private firms that made Ikeja their headquarters. This ensured that Agege became a place to be called 'home' for several Nigerians. A large number of influential Nigerians, home and abroad have their respective 'my Agege story'!

While these successful individuals have their respective 'my Agege story', they shudder at what Agege is becoming. Many of them, once they leave, don't even want to pay a visit. Many areas where they lived rather than improve are regressing. Many locations that they can recall as academic fronts and intellectual discourse have been taken over by touts. The youths who should engage in creative purposes are being reduced to illicit drug users, pickpockets, political thugs, and other devilish vices. The roads are not tarred, the streets are not lit at night, the general outlook of the environment is not conducive.

A group of passionate indigenes, eminent personalities home and abroad of Agege extraction collectively known as AGEGE RENEWED HOPE MOVEMENT is determined to stem this ugly trend. The group is determined to restore the lost glory of the culturally relevant and historically important city of Agege. The group is determined to light up the hopes of old and young Nigerians who now reside in Agege.

With the calibre of individuals that Agege can boast of in public service, private business, sports, security, Arts, entertainment, et al, Agege deserves much more. This is the reason behind the birth of the movement. This is a clarion call to all indigenes and residents of Agege to join hand to restore and reposition Agege back to its old glory. AGEGE RENEWED HOPE MOVEMENT is here!

By: Fashina Shakiru

The Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on a state-private visit to Owo, Ondo State.

Mr. President visited the families of the late Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, Olowo of Owo Kingdom, Oba Ajibade Ogunoye, and Oba Gbadegesin Ogunoye to commiserate with the Olowo-in-Council.

The leader of the Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard, NDCV, Akogun Omotuwa Job, made commendations on Thursday during the council meeting in Ilaje, Akure.

According to him, "I thank Mr. President for the visit, and I assure him of the cooperation of the Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard, people of Ondo State."

The ex-militants of Ilaje in the South West region are ready to work with the security agency to put an end to pipeline vandalism in the region. The NDCV are peace-loving people and want to be in charge of our waterway and oil pipeline line security as the longest coaster line in the whole Niger Delta region, Akogun Omotuwa Job said.

"We urged the federal government to allow indigenous members of the community to guide the pipeline in their region. The llaje should take care of the waterway from Ilaje to Ogun and Lagos State to avoid a crisis."

While appealing to Nigeria to be more patient with the Tinubu administration on the economic reform and hardship experienced across the country. Steps are being taken to address the economic hardship in the country.

The President also visited Pa Fasoranti, Leader, Afenifere Group, and had discussion on matters of high importance relating to the growth and development of the country, adding NDCV will partner with the security agency on protection of pipeline surveillance to survive without an increase in production so that our exports will outweigh our imports, Akogun Omotuwa Job noted.

The Realities of Environmental Degradation- Principles and Application of EIA by Dr. Benard Omoyeni

Achieving economic growth and securing higher standards of living should not be at the expense of the environment, because the environment is the foundation upon which existence of all forms of life depends, as well as remains the life support system for human continuity.
The realities of environmental degradation, climate change and associated effects can no longer be denied. Global warming issues have generated high global attention and the need to urgently entrench the principles of sustainable development, and practically address the root causes of global warming and climate change.

Pipeline Protection: NDCV cautions FG for awarding contract to non-idigene security outfits, avert crises.

By Fashina Shakiru.

The Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard (NDCV) cautioned the Federal Government on Thursday for awarding contact for pipeline protection to a non-idigenous security company while denying the same privilege to the EEL Security company, the Ilaje indigenous security outfit, for the job.

Akogun Omotuwa Job, National President, stated this is a statement he signed on Thursday and made available to Newsmen by his National Secretary, Chief Ajiroba Lucky.

It is, therefore, shocking to read that the Ondo State Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps( NSCDC) had a meeting with a non-idigene security outfit, Gallery Security Services, contracted by the government to secure our region's Ondo Waterways.

The National President, NDCV, said we will not allow the plans by the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation Limited (NNPCL) to re-award the pipeline surveillance contracts to some ex-militant leaders in the Niger Delta region to carry out security monitoring of pipeline vandals because these people and security companies did not represent the Ilaje people in the South West; they cannot represent us in this region.

He noted that Gallery Security Services and High Chief Bibopere Ajube, the Beleukoriowei, are not from Ilaje south-west, and he cannot represent the region or speak for the region; he should be in his own territory, not Ilaje territory.

"All the oil wells in Ondo State are in Ilaje, in the south-west region. Because of this, the Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard is supporting the EEL Security Company to be in charge of IIaje, the longest coaster line," said Akogun Omotuwa Job.

Meanwhile, the NDCV is already cooperating with all the security agencies to stop all the illegal oil activities in the region. The group is supporting the EEL Security Company and can as well partner with the federal government to secure the south-west region of the waterway to be in charge of the South West, from Ondo State to Lagos Water Way. We want Ilaje, Yoruba, and the south-west to reflect very well because all the oil wells in Ondo State are in their territory, not Ijaw territory.

"We are calling for the review of the existing policy on the decentralization of the new surveillance project to accommodate leaders of ex-militants in Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos State to avoid an imminent crisis in the region."

According to the National President, "The Niger Delta Coastline Vanguard (NDCV) is in Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State and is a group of ex-militants who, under the Presidential Amnesty Program, submitted weapons and were granted pardoned in 2017 with a promise to be properly integrated into the Federal Government Amnesty Program with all accrued benefits. We established a forest camp in Ilaje Local Government Areas of Ondo State. The Ilaje covers the entire 120-kilometer coastline and 80% of the waterways in the state."

Akogun Omotuwa Job's statement, which was titled, 'The call for immediate decentralization of pipeline surveillance contracts in the Niger Delta Region to avert crisis, consider Ilaje man for the job', read, “The plans by the Nigerian National Petroleum Cooperation Limited to re-award the pipeline surveillance contracts to some ex-militant leaders in the Niger Delta region to carry out security monitoring of pipeline vandals. It is on this basis that we are calling for the review of the existing policy on the decentralization of the new surveillance project to accommodate leaders of ex-militants in Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos State to avoid an imminent crisis in the region".

The group, in a statement yesterday, copied the Federal Government, through the Office of the National Security Adviser, General Manager, Nigerian National Petroluem Cooperation Limited, Director of State Service, and Inspector General of Police, to be aware of the serious implication the neglect of this agitation could cause to the region. More so, when the contract is awarded to people who are not too familiar with the region, they add that everything is taken from our environment through pipelines and still deny us the opportunity to maintain those pipelines.

On this note, we demand the following for peace to reign in the region:
i.Decentralization of the pipeline surveillance contract to accommodate NDCV to cover the Ondo, Ogun, and Lagos State littoral corridors.
ii.That NDCV has the capacity, the required intelligence, and human resources to collaborate with the Federal Government in the surveillance of pipelines and anti-bunkering activities in the area.
iii. That NDCV is familiar with the terrain for effective and efficient output.
iv.That we shall not allow or accept any deliberate attempt by the government or an agent of the government to impose someone from another region who does not belong to our ethnic nationality on us to sustain the existing peace in the region.

We call on Mr. President to intervene in this and stop this disrespect to our region (the South West).

"We are also very comfortable with the tremendous peace being enjoyed at the moment, and we want it to continue."

A Man, who regularly attended meetings suddenly, without any notice, stopped participating. After a few weeks, one very cold night, the leader of that group decided to visit him.
He found the man at home alone, sitting in front of a fireplace where a bright fire burnt. The Man welcomed the leader. There was great calm and silence. The two men only watched the dancing flames around the logs that crackled the fireplace.

After a few minutes, the leader, without saying a word examined the logs that formed the fire and selected one of them glowing most brightly of all, and removed it to the side with a pair of tongs.

Then he sat down again. The host was paying attention to everything, fascinated. Before long, the lone’s long flame subsided, until there was a momentary glow and the fire soon went out in a short time. What was a previously bright light and heat had become nothing more than a black and dead piece of wood.

Before preparing to leave, the leader, with the tongs picked up the useless piece of wood and placed it again in the middle of the fire. Immediately the hitherto lifeless piece of wood was rekindled, fueled by the light & heat of the burning coals around it.

When the leader reached the door to leave, the host said: ‘Thank you for your visit and for your beautiful lesson. I’ll return to the group soon.’

Why is a group important in our lives? Because each member that withdraws takes fire and heat from the rest.

It’s worth reminding the group members that they are a part of the flame. It’s also good to remind us That we are all responsible for keeping each other’s flame burning.

And we must promote unity among us, so that the fire is really strong, effective, and lasting.

Let's Keep the Fire Burning.

The third traditional ruler, the Alara of Ara –Ekiti, Oba Adebayo Fatoba escaped the attack during the incidence that occured on Monday.

Atayero who described the incident as ‘sad and unfortunate’ called on government and security agencies to double their efforts and ensure safety of lives and properties.

“the situation calls for declaration of emergency on security and safety matters, it is worrisome that revered monarchs can be assaulted and terribly murdered .

‘it is disheartening if our traditional rulers are not safe in their communities again, which is an indication that no one is safe.
