The subtle campaign train for the 2015 Presidential election by the PDP  has moved to Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.  President Goodluck Jonathan just like he did in Sokoto, Owerri and other places today led the who is who in PDP to Kwara State in what many have seen as a campaign for his re election. In attendance were the Vice President, Namadi Sambo, PDP Chairman and BOT Chairman, Tony Anenih as well as Senate President, David Mark .Some decampees were also welcome into the PDP umbrella. They were,  the sister to former Kwara State Governor, Senator Gbemisola Saraki,the APC governorship candidate of the APC in the last election, Barr Belgore and some other notable members, President Jonathan told the mammoth crowd that the PDP is the only party not owned by any individual in the country. He also said that the PDP is the only party with not god fathers

Asks for N400bn token to each of five S-East states, Anioma in Delta State

ENUGU — The pan-Igbo socio-cultural organisation, yesterday, demanded from the Federal Government N2.4 trillion as reparation and compensation to Ndigbo in the five South East states and Anioma in Delta State, who lost their loved ones and property during the civil war as well as those still suffering dislocation and seizure of property in the country.

It also asked the Federal Government to tender a “State Apology for the wrongs the government and people of Nigeria visited on Ndigbo and Igboland” in the past.
These demands were contained in a statement entitled, ‘The Atrocities and Injustice Against Ndigbo and Ohanaeze Ndigbo: Demand for Reparation,’ issued by the Chairman, Ohanaeze Reparation Committee, Chief Mbazulike Amechi in Enugu.
He recalled that the apex Igbo organistion had on May 25, 2013 at its Imeobi meeting, which is the supreme executive organ of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, resolved that ‘enough was enough’ and that Ndigbo should now demand reparation and compensation and a final stop to the persecution of Ndigbo in their own country.

He said the committee, which he chaired, had taken the pains to document some of the atrocities, injustice and deprivation visited on Ndigbo and resolved to demand that the Federal Government should in addition to tendering a state apology, pay a token of N400 billion to each of the five states of Igboland as compensation for the incalculable damage done to the Igbo race.
According to him:

Violence had broken out in Southern Kaduna this morning as hundreds of youths and women took to the streets protesting shooting of locals by some armed soldiers stationed in the area. A traveler to Abuja from Jos told SaharaReporters via a telephone call.

The protests followed a shooting  incident that occurred in Manchok, a small  town on the border of Plateau state.

The protesters were said to have cycled the soldiers after they shot indiscriminately locals injuring two students and other locals, many of whom have been rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The source said; the women and youths barricaded the road connecting travelers around Vom-Manchok road to Kafanchan and Abuja while others converged at the palace of the chief demanding justice.

“What we heard was four vigilantes in the area were arrested last night by the soldiers and beaten. Soldiers arrested them during stop-and- search staged to stave off attacks by unknown gunmen in the area. And when they were released, they were in bad shape because of the torture, and when the community protested the soldiers opened fire on them.”
