Police nab suspect over attack on Apostle Suleiman
The Police on Thursday said they have arrested a suspect over the Oct. 21, 2022 attack on the convoy of Apostle Johnson Suleiman, the General Overseer, Omega Fire Ministeries along Benin-Auchi road.
The Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi said this at a media briefing in Abuja.
Adejobi said the suspect was a member of the seven-man gang responsible for the attack on the convoy of the clergyman where six people, including three police officers were gruesomely murdered.
He said the suspect was apprehended following intensive investigation into the fatal attack on the convoy, adding that he will be charged for conspiracy, attempted murder and murder.
Adejobi said five AK47 Rifles, 2 K2 Assault rifles, 180 live ammunition and four suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IEDs) were recovered from the suspect’s apartment.
Panic as armed robbers terrorize NSUK students in Nasarawa
The students of Nasarawa State University in Keffi (NSUK) are reportedly being t£rrorized by armed robb£rs.
The robberies have reportedly been going on for over a month and many students have been att@cked, r@aed and severely inj¥red.
It was gathered that the armed robb£rs, who are said to be in their numbers, usually invade the students’ hostels, br£ak their doors to gain access into their rooms, where they rob and att@ck them.
The latest incident, which occurred last night, left a yet-to-be-specified number of students inj¥red.
According to one of the affected students, “My school has been under robbery att@ck for over a month now. Students are being sh@t, inj¥red, and even r@ped. Police here are not doing anything about it and it getting worst by the day. Please, we need urgent help.”
Another students disclosed that, “Our school is under att@ck, the armed robb£rs are more than 40 in number. They have been terr@rizing and r¥pping students off their valuables. The vice presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Kashim Shettima has urged Nigerians to brace up for a tough time in 2023.
Shettima dropped the hint on Thursday in Abuja at an event organised by APC Professionals Forum with the theme, ‘Dissecting the Asiwaju Manifesto’.
He warned that the country would go through some rough waters in the coming months and years.
The vice presidential candidate said while he is an incurable optimist, he is also a realist, saying the nation cannot shield itself from the global realities and from the challenges in Ukraine.
Shettima stated: “We’re going to go through some rough waters in the coming months and years. This is why leadership is very crucial. 2023 will be a watershed election in the history of this country.”
The former Borno State governor added: “What are the options available? Our political space is filled with a lot of very careful snails. We have to provoke conversation without descending so low to engage in malicious concoctions or [casting] dubious aspersions on personalities.”
Shettima also took a swipe at the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Mr Peter Obi, saying: “Peter “Gringori” Obi is my friend but “Gringori” has absolutely nothing to offer apart from dubious statistics. So [in] the choice before us, there is a difference between daylight and darkness.”
Unknown gunmen attacked travelers at Ekwusigo-Ozubulu junction, in Anambra State, in the early hours of Friday, October 21.
At least a car and three trucks, conveying goods said to be worth over ₦500million, were set ablaze by the hoodlums.
Spokesperson of the state police command, DSP Ikenga Tochukwu, who confirmed the incident to newsmen said: “It is a case of armed robbery and arson. It was reported in the early hours of today.
The hoodlums blocked the Onitsha-Owerri road expresssway by Ekwusigo-Ozubulu. Police quickly went to the scene. Before we got there, the armed robbers had already made away with personal belongings of the victims who were on transit and when they couldn't get what they wanted, they set the trucks carrying tomatoes on fire.”

Soldier arrested for allegedly stealing ammunition and selling them to Boko Haram members and bandits
A serving Nigerian Army private; Emmanuel Iorliam of the 156 Task Force Battalion, Mainok in Borno state, has been arrested for gun running.
Iorliam who hails from Benue state allegedly steals arms and ammunition from his base and sells same to Bandit, Boko Haram members and kidnappers. He met his Waterloo while he was moving these cache of ammunition out of Borno State to hand over to his customers.
He was intercepted by his colleagues at a check point and upon searching him, he was found to be in possession of the ammunition.

"After Pastor Moodley's death, his family and members of the church used to visit the funeral home to pray for his resurrection. The last visit was in September last year Nobody has come to view the body since then. There is no news about his funeral," said Du Toit
He said he had lodged an application with the Johannesburg Magistrate's Court to grant him permission to have Moodley buried or cremated However, the matter has not been set down as yet for a hearing

Police Arrest Kidnappers Who Kill Victims In Kogi State
Sometimes around March 2022, one Babatunde Orogu age 34 was kidnapped to an unknown location, his phone SIM was used to negotiate the ransom twice to the tune of One Million Naira (N1,000,000.00) at different locations.
Operation of the CIRRS swung into action with the help of analysis, tracked down one Abdul Shaibu 32 of age from Okpachala, Kogi state, whom the victim’s phone was traced to his possession and apprehended him.
He made a confessional statement and admitted being a member of kidnapping gang, he further led the operatives of CIRRS to Lokoja in Kogi State where One Musa Araba "m" aged 40 years and One Ugbede Abdul "m" aged 38 years were arrested and they all confessed independently to have taken part in the kidnapped saga while ransom was collected.
They further narrated that the said Abdul Shaibu "m" who also opened up to have worked as a labourer under the victim suggested the killing of the victim.
They later used sharp knife and slaughtered him on his neck till he gave up the ghost.
Meanwhile, the operatives are on top gear to recover the corpse and their operational weapons.

Protest erupt s as Novena university asks over500 students to withdraw over fake admission
The students of Novena university in Ogume, Delta State, on Friday August 26, staged a protest after the school’s authority asked over 500 of them to withdraw over fake admission.
It was gathered that the affected students who are said to be on scholarship are on 200 to 400 levels.
Cult war: Police Arrest 30 suspects, recover severed head of victim in Edo
A recent cult rivalry between Aiye and Eiye confraternities in Benin City, Edo State capital, has resulted in the death of two members of the warring factions in the last 72 hours.
One of the victims, 40-year-old Taiwo Edigie, was reportedly killed Thursday, 25 August, 2022, at Oho Street, in Uselu axis of the town.
The head of the victim was severed and dropped at a different location from where the body was found by the police.
The other victim whose identity was yet to be verified as at the time of filing this report, was killed along Imuetiyan Street, off Ojo Road, Ugbowo, also in connection to the ongoing cult fight.
It was, however, independently gathered that another victim was also killed on Wednesday morning, between 6.00am and 6.30 am, along Ihiae Street, Uselu.
The victim, who was said to be a very popular member of the local vigilante group, was reportedly strangled to death, as several bullets fired at him failed to penetrate him.
Irked by the inter cult rival killings, the State Police Command responded with massive raids and arrests of cultists suspected to be associated with the crime.
A statement released on Friday morning by the Command’s deputy spokesperson, ASP Jennifer Iwegbu, disclosed that a total of 30 suspects were arrested in the intensive raids.
“Profiling is still ongoing and anyone found culpable or related to any of the cult rivalry killings would be arraigned in court as soon as profiling is concluded,” the statement said.
Meanwhile, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Abutu Yaro, who commiserating with the bereaved families, specifically warned members of Eiye and Aiye Cult groups to either renege their violent rivalry that led to avoidable deaths of their members, or be ready for more arrest and prosecution in the days ahead.
He, however, assured the good people of Edo State of the Command’s unrelenting efforts in ensuring that there is no hiding place for criminals.
