Reality TV star, Tokunbo Idowu popularly known as TBoss, has stated that the people who always post Bible and inspirational posts online are the most wicked and toxic.

The mother of one took to her Instastory to make this assertion on Sunday, June 12.

According to her, those people who portray themselves as religious on social media are the worst.

“It be the ones always posting up the Bible quotes, motivational and inspirational posts that be the most wicked and toxic. Every single time” she wrote.

A Nigerian pastor identified as Apostle Marvis Ogbeide has celebrated becoming a father for the first time after waiting for eight years.

On the day his bundle of Joy was born, he took to his social media page to write;

“Celebrate with me. It is a baby girl. I am now a proud father after 8 years of waiting.”

The Tinubu Campaign Organisation, loyal to All Progressives Congress, APC Presidential candidate in the 2023 poll, Bola Tinubu, has debunked a viral document on social media purported to be the manifesto of the party’s Presidential candidate.

The rebuttal was contained in a release by Director, Media and Communication of the organisation, Mr. Bayo Onanuga on Sunday.

Onanuga said that the manifesto being shared mostly via WhatsApp and Facebook is not the official campaign manifesto of the APC presidential candidate.

The statement read in part: “The attention of the Tinubu Campaign Organisation has been drawn to a viral  false document said to be the manifesto of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

“The document is currently being circulated via social media platforms in his name, despite the TCO informing editors that it is merely a draft proposal and suggestions on the programme he should implement, when elected in February 2023. A manifesto is a more serious document.

“The TCO hereby formally dissociates Asiwaju Tinubu from the document.”

“Asiwaju Tinubu, in consultation with the party, experts in various fields and a broad section of the populace, through empirical and evidence-based approach, is working on an all-embracing manifesto that will be presented to Nigerians when it is ready before the official campaign begins in September.”

While acknowledging that the manifesto in circulation was prepared by some senior associates of the APC presidential candidate, Onanuga said the manifesto was a private initiative, which Tinubu has not personally endorsed and accepted.

Onanuga stated further: “I want to place it on record that the manifesto being circulated via social media platforms and already published by a section of the mainstream media is not the official Manifesto of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and All Progressives Congress for 2023 general election.

“While our presidential candidate appreciates the spirit and efforts of his associates that produced the document being passed around mostly on WhatsApp, we want to clearly state that the document is an unofficial document and Tinubu cannot be held accountable on any of the issues raised in the document.

“The Presidential candidate and APC are currently working on an all-embracing manifesto that will inspire the confidence of Nigerians.

“When the official policy document of Tinubu is ready it will be formally presented to Nigerians and our candidate will be in a position to defend every word that will be contained therein.

“We appreciate the interest and enthusiasm of Nigerians to know about the programmes and policy options Asiwaju Tinubu will pursue in government when elected.

“He is a tested and experienced leader who will bring his knowledge and expertise to run a government that will meet the aspiration and yearnings of our people across every sector.”

Social media users have been left awestruck by the strikingly young look of an 88-year-old black man.

A 29-year-old man, Rafiu Rahaman, has been arrested by detectives of the State Criminal Investigation Department in Lagos for faking his own kidnap.

The suspect, a staff of Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA), is said to have traveled to Lugbe, Abuja, after faking his kidnap, where he made a video of himself in captivity, which was sent to his co-worker.

The spokesperson of the Lagos state police command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who confirmed Rahaman’s arrest in a statement, confirmed that his accomplice, Usman Sheidu, who demanded a five million naira ransom but got one hundred and fifty thousand naira after extensive negotiation, has equally been arrested.

“Investigations reveal that Usman Sheidu who was arrested in Abuja conspired with Rahaman to self-stage the kidnap and make the video that was sent to the co-worker for ransom. Usman also confessed to have shared the ransom equally with Rahaman and used his share in acquiring a generator and other items for himself. Suspects will be arraigned in court at the conclusion of investigations.” Hundeyin said.

The Voice of Nigerian Youth Initiative has declared Vice President Yemi Osinbajo a winner in the just-concluded All Progressives Congress, APC, presidential primaries, despite losing the ticket to former Lagos governor and a chieftain of the party, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

On Thursday, 9th June 2022, the vice-president congratulated the APC flagbearer for the 2023 Presidential elections, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu.

Osinbajo wrote;

The police command in Lagos State, yesterday, confirmed a report of the killing of a woman with four months pregnancy by her 25-year-old husband, Wasiu Olanrewaju.

The alleged murder occurred at Araromi-Ale Community, Oko-Afo, Badagry in Olorunda Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State.

The spokesman for the command, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, said the case would be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Panti, Yaba, for more investigation.

He said: “The man is still on admission at a hospital in Badagry; he will be taken to SCID, Panti, Yaba when he is stable. He will be charged to court.”



“Another quarrel erupted and the woman was heard saying she would not agree with him,” an eyewitness disclosed.

It was gathered that Olanrewaju and his wife, Fathia, were always at loggerheads and their latest quarrel led to the stabbing of the 21-year-old woman by the man, resulting in her death.

The witness said that the woman made the statement on her way back home.

The source said: “Olanrewaju had laid an ambush in the room with a knife and reportedly stabbed her when she entered the room with the knife.

“Realising what he did, Olanrewaju attempted to commit suicide by stabbing himself in the stomach in the presence of his two-year-old son.”



He said neighbours rushed to the scene and saw Fathia dead and Olanrewaju struggling.

“Seeing Olanrewaju struggling to survive and Fathia already dead, they went and reported at Morogbo Police Station,” he said.

According to the source, the police moved Fathia’s corpse to the morgue of the General Hospital, Badagry, and rushed her husband to the emergency unit of the hospital.

Dr Olatunde Bakare, the Medical Director of the general hospital, said that the couple was brought in on June 7.

According to the medical director, Fathia was brought in dead while Olanrewaju is alive.

“Olanrewaju is a bit stable now after receiving treatment for two days, but the remains of his wife are in our mortuary,” he said.

The administration of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu State has offered bursary to 165 Enugu students in different campuses of the Nigeria Law School across the country.

The I65 beneficiaries of the bursary were identified and listed by Enugu law students themselves when they interacted with Gov. Ugwuanyi at the Government House, Enugu, recently.

Confirming the disbursement of the bursary to the law students, the Executive Secretary, Enugu State Scholarship Board, Barr. Uche Levis Abonyi, stated that each of the beneficiaries has received the sum of N100,000.00 from the state government, through his office.   

Barr. Abonyi disclosed that Gov. Ugwuanyi started paying the bursary to Enugu State indigenes in the Nigeria Law School in 2020 during the outbreak of Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the country.



He added that the state government during the heat of COVID-19 in 2020 paid the sum of N24,600,000.00 to Enugu law students to cushion the adverse effects of the pandemic, stressing that “This payment was made at a time most states were struggling to pay workers’ salaries because of economic recession”.

The Executive Secretary urged the students to be good ambassadors of the state wherever they find themselves, and “always have our dear state, Enugu, in your prayers for the sustenance of peace, security and good governance entrenched by Gov. Ugwuanyi’s administration”.

Reacting on their behalf, the leader of the law students, Michael Kenechukwu Onah expressed immense gratitude to Gov. Ugwuanyi for continued show of humility, benevolence and steadfastness to the wellbeing of Enugu indigenes and residents in spite of the nation’s economic challenges.

Onah reiterated the commitment of the law students towards making Enugu State proud, promising Gov. Ugwuanyi that they will surely make him proud in the Bar Finals coming up in August this year in appreciation of his kind gesture.

Describing the bursary as “a privilege, not a right”, the leader of the law students, reassured the governor of their support, prayers and solidarity.

According to the charge, the three men were charged on three count charges that border on conspiracy, armed robbery and possession of illegal arms.

An Ado- Ekiti High Court in Ekiti, on Thursday, discharged and acquitted three men, Prince Bulus, Michael Joshua and Paul Mike over alleged conspiracy, armed robbery and possession of arms.

According to the charge, the three men were charged on three count charges that border on conspiracy, armed robbery and possession of illegal arms.

The offences violated sections 516, 402 (a), (b) of the criminal Code Laws, Cap C16 Laws of Ekiti State, 2012.

In her statement, one of the victims, Ibrahim Romoke said, after the day’s business around 10:00pm, and was about to lock the shop, when he saw one of the defendants who pretended be a customer.



“When he drew near me, he pointed a gun at me and we entered my shop.

“He demanded for money, I begged him that I don’t have money but he saw my hand bag where it was, he searched it and took all my sales for the day, N45, 700 and my handset.

“When I was about raising alarm, they climbed a waiting motorcycle and rode towards Federal Housing Estate area, I later reported the matter at Oke Ila Police station,” she said.

To prove his case, the prosecutor, Julius Ajibare called five witnesses; tendered the victims and defendants statements as exhibits.

The defendants through their counsel, Adeyinka Opaleke, State Coordinator, Legal Aid Council; called no witness but denied committing the offences as alleged.

“We only went there to drink beer before we were arrested by officers of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps,” they said.

In his judgment, Justice Bamidele Omotoso said the prosecution counsel had failed to establish all the three ingredients of the offence of armed robbery against the defendants.

“I also hold that the prosecution has failed to prove beyond reasonable doubt the offences of conspiracy, armed robbery and possession of illegal arms against the defendants.

“Finally, I resolve the sole issues in this case against the prosecution in favour of the defendants.

“The defendants are hereby discharged and acquitted of the offences of conspiracy, armed robbery and possession of illegal arms.” he said.

Former Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Kingsley Moghalu has lost the Presidential ticket of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, to Dumebi Kachikwu on Wednesday.

Kachikwu, a media entrepreneur and younger brother of former Minister of State for Petroleum, defeated Kingsley Moghalu, and a businessman, Chukwuka Monye at the Presidential Convention in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Kachikwu polled a total of 977 votes against Moghalu who came second with 589 votes while Monye who came third had 339 votes.

However, Kachikwu’s victory was immediately criticized by his opponents, who said he had “dollarised” the process by bribing delegates.

Monye reacted: “I appreciate Prof. Moghalu and other credible aspirants for a spirited fight even though we didn’t make it. The fight to rescue this country from the brink of disaster is still on. Monye is committed to this. We’ll communicate who we will support.”

Moghalu, Tuesday, had berated the two frontline political parties, the All Progressives Congress, ADC, and the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before the primary election of his party.

He tweeted: “Anyone making permutations about 2023 based on the presumed electoral superiority of APC or PDP will be disappointed. I did not join either of them when I entered Nigerian politics in 2018 because I am student of history: “empires” collapse when least expected.

“They collapse when they appear to be at the height of their power but in reality are decaying from inside. Expect unexpected disruption in 2023. An uncompleted 5-storey building located at Ngbabor, Presco campus of Ebonyi State University, Abakaliki has collapsed to the amazement of residents of the area.

So far, no casualty has been recorded.

The scene of the incident at Presco campus, opposite prince Marice Hostel, sympathizers, including government officials were seen inspecting the colapsed building in order to ascertain the cause of the incident.

A Team of Police officers and Ebubeagu operatives were on ground to cordonoff the collapsed building to avoid any form of casualty.

According to a member of the community, who didn’t want her name in print, said the building collapsed around 2:00pm on Tuesday afternoon.

She further explained that the labourers working at the site, ran away immediately the building started vibrating and eventually collapsed.

It was gathered that one of the twin buildings was still standing while a part of it was what collapsed.

People from the area were warned by government officials not to go closer to the remaining uncompleted building for their own safety.

The Nigeria Labour Congress has called on the Federal Government to end the strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities and other university-based unions.

The NLC President, Mr Ayuba Wabba, made the call in his contributions to the report of the Director-General, International Labour Organisation, during the 110th International Labour Conference in Geneva, Switzerland.

The conference which opened on Tuesday has the theme, “Social justice, decent work.”

According to Wabba, the NLC has written to the Federal Government on how to end the university workers’ strike.

“We call on the government to bring this strike to an end without further delay,” he said.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that while the Federal Government continue to work on the demands of the unions, academic activities across all public universities have been suspended.

Wabba said that the NLC had written to President Muhammadu Buhari on how to use a high-powered delegation to end the strike.

He said that one of the main issues in contention was the deployment of the University Transparency and Accountability Solution, a salary payment platform developed by ASUU.

“I think the process has been concluded, what we are waiting for is for that process to reconvene again and for that issue to be resolved. We opened that channel of intervention among others.

“I am also aware that the Interfaith Religious Council also met with Mr President and the thinking was in the same direction.

“We will be very committed to reviewing that process and making sure that our children are made to go back to school.

“The best way to resolve disputes under the ILO rule is through a social dialogue process that works and that respects collective bargaining agreements.

“That will be a lasting option to addressing some of those issues and disputes, and I think it is high time that was done,” he said.

A fake naval officer was arrested by men of the Orile division of the Lagos state police command.

SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who disclosed this, said the fake officer was discovered to have been recruited into the Nigeria Navy in 2010 but was dismissed in 2011.

He said the fake officer will be arraigned soon.
