You had to wait several years while the nefarious deals were done and sealed and the criminals packed up and left, before packing up your band of mopols to take a reporter ther to report WHAT? To report that you have stubled across an empty kidnapper's den? what have you achieved with that? Have they been caught? Or maybe your hounds will sniff around the place, then use their scents to hound them down?
How are we sure the Police were not involved in the kidnappings? A friend recently narrated how he was kidnapped around d same Imo state, and from his narration it was clear  the police were involved, e.g. the abduction happened at a police check point, when he was released after his ransome, the kidnappers told him to go to the nearby police station that his car was there, and he fount it there. the police station was even not far from the kidnappers den)
Secondly a close friend of mine was shot and killed last year. His car was snatched at gun point at Enugu and he went in search of it with policemen because the car had a tracking device on it. They tracked the car to Ebonyi and found it parked inside the compound of a police boss. My friend didnt come back alive, and we were told there was a shoot out with the criminals and he was shot.
Its too sad, but, guys, WE DONT HAVE A CREDIBLE POLICE FORCE IN NIGERIA!!!

@domyil2be, maybe you are right... but I think its internationally approved for a criminal to be tried in the country in which he commited the offence, which is why the extradition law is enforced all over the world. In other words, if you want to be tried for criminality in your own country because you hope to get a more lenient judgement, then commit your crime within the borders of your country...
Moreover, I don't really have sympathy for those who take up alms and butcher other men simply for money... look at the figures, both the naira and CFA put together is roughly a million naira, is that how much the lives they murdered cost?
Don't also forget that the victims are other people's brothers, fathers etc, which could be your relative tomorrow...
Let us not be over righteous, but if a man should live off the blood of others, then he's a vampire and does not deserve to live at all.
Don't also forget that the guys are apparently unrepentant, according to the report "The gang told PUNCH METRO last week that they found the trade too lucrative to abandon it"
