The church goofed. Apostle Paul in bible book of 1Corinthians Chapter 7 verse 36 endorses sex before marriage.

1 Corinthians Chapter 7 verse 36 reads "If any one thinks that he is not behaving properly toward his betrothed, if his passions are strong, and it has to be, let him do as he wishes: let them marry -- it is no sin." RSV

THE QUESTION IS IN 2 PARTS. FROM THE FIRST QUESTION, 'WAS JESUS ACTUALLY SON OF GOD?', A COUNTER QUESTION COULD BE ASKED AND THAT IS, DID JESUS EVER CLAIM TO BE SON OF GOD?  THERE IS NO SINGLE EQUIVOCAL STATEMENT FROM JESUS CHRIST TO JUSTIFY THIS TEACHING WHICH IS ONE OF THE CARDINAL BELIEFS OF CHRISTIANITY (ACTS 2:21 - 23, MATHEW 26:23-25, MARK 14:62, LUKE 5:24 AND JOHN 6:27).  NOTHING COULD BE MORE EXPLICIT.  EQUALLY, THE SECOND PART CAN ONLY ANSWERED BY THE BOOK OF MATHEW CHAPTER 19 :34-35.  TO THE SECOND PART OF THE QUESTION IS ANOTHER COUNTER QUESTION, DID JESUS FULFIL HIS PROMISE OF THE SIGN OF JONAS?  WHAT WAS THE SIGN OF JONAS?    (LUKE 11:28-30 AND MATHEW 12:39-41) THE BALL IS IN YOUR COURT.
3  Forum / Religion / Re: What are the differences and similarities between Islam and Christianity? (Page 12) on: 31-01-2011 06:03 PM
Both religions believe in the miraculous birth of Jesus Christ without human agency.
Both religions believe that Jesus Christ ascended to heaven and would return.
Both religions fast.
Both the Bible and Qu'ran recognize Mary Mother of Jesus as chaste.
Both religions present Jesus Christ as sinless and role model.
Both religions believe in the Judgement Day.
Both religions believe and preach Al-Jenna (Paradise).
Both religions abhors alchohol and discourages adherents from its consumption.
Both religions abhors polyandry.

The differences between Islam and Christianity include the following:

Islam does not accept Trinity (Godhead, Godson, God Holy Ghost).
Islam does not accept sonship ascribed to Christ.
Christianity preaches original sin where a son is said capable of taking the burden of sin committed by either parents.
Islam recommends polygamy while Christianity discourages the practice.
The Qu'ran documented that Jesus was saved from the ignoble death in the hands of Jews while the Bible catalogued that he was killed on the stake, some say the cross.
The Qu'ran has a particular Chapter dedicated to Mary Mother of Jesus (Sura Maryam) while the Bible does not.  Mary Mother of Jesus was only mentioned 18 times in the New Testament of the Bible.
Jesus is mentioned by name in the Qu'ran while the Bible made only a passing remark about Prophet Mohammed (SAW) in the Book of Lamentations.  THE QU'RAN SUPPOSEDLY WRITTEN BY PROPHET MOHAMMED (SAW) MENTIONED THE NAME OF JESUS 500 PER CENT MORE TIMES THAN DID HIS OWN NAME.

please note this list is yet exhausted.  More would be posted in due course.
