I think she's right, Changing the name of school does not change anything academically..........And moreso everybody will like either school, street, mall, or even stadium to be named after you being an influencial person, Such as politician, footballers, or just anybody who have contributed to the society,  I'm quite sure if M.K.O ABIOLA is from Bayelsa or Niger Delta many people might be thinking he was favoured because their from the same place,  Honestly looking at this issue is not worth protesting for while other things are out there worth to even die for, Like Electricity, Road, and many more.

Yes i agree with you, her husband should take her back and without giving her any warning i'm strongly believed she would warn herself, Looking at it from another perspective nothing is wrong with the gift, at the sametime the boss could think the woman is giving indirect sign, all along i think one or two people would learn from this.

One way or the other, this issue still based on understanding......between the boss and the husband, Sometimes you need to seek peoples opinion to buy gift for people for their birthday, For instance if this boss buy the woman an underwear definitely the woman might think the man is up to something, Though human being with differences.  Assuming the woman seek for her husband idea or opinion, she might loose her job but not her husband and her husband could even go to the boss and said he was the one who asked to buy it.
