1  Forum / The Buzz Central / An Old Man's View on DAVIDO on: 1-04-2014 03:55 AM

As I sit in an exciting salon cutting my hair, I watch a slew of Davido’s videos on Channel O. Now let me state very clearly that I have never expected this particular artiste to hold the publics attention this long. I had looked at him as an average talent being pushed by the superior financial fire power of his father and other backers. Or what else would you expect when Africa’s richest man attended his debut album launch.
So I listened and just moved on. But his Gobe, Skelewu and the one that he did in a farming/ village setting have more than convinced me that this is a great talent.

As I watch these videos, I see a young man who is thoroughly enjoying himself. One that would do nothing else even if his life depended on it. The last time I saw these kind of passion in his art was watching a young Shina Peters on stage. Davido in his performances have more than convinced me that he is very clear as to his position in life.

The Skelewu beats is the quintessential ‘less is more’. I hear very little lyrics but a pulsating and very skinny beats that tug at your heart forcing you to move your legs to the rhythm. The song hits you at your most vulnerable, querying your refusal to stand up and dance, first urging you but later forcefully throwing you to the dance floor. The simpleness of the whole arrangement belies it’s perfection. It reminds you of the need to be one with your environment. It pushes you to seek a partner with which you will share this temporary madness. The excitement it exudes is so infectious that if you don’t immediately share it, you could explode.

You should see my little daughter, Zara dance to the beats. She is only 5 but has perfectly memorized not only the lyrics but the dance steps. Any unfortunate visitor that comes in must be forced to watch the Skelewu choreography in my house. Refusal to watch will earn you a scowl and a rebuke from her and in extreme cases a warning that you should not come to the house again.

I also just listened to Gobe. The playfulness of it all is what got me. This is an artistes that is not taking life too seriously and begs us to do the same. The commercial chorus line is striking and the beats are anything but dexterous. The only flaw is the storyline behind the video, showing a small resemblance to what R.kelly had done before. But notwithstanding it gave me a new respect for this artiste.

Davido will evolve from teen sensation to a serious artiste as can be seen in his Gobe track. That is usually the albatross of most artistes. Very few cross that line unscathed. Artistes like tuface did and are still holding to their audience.

Davido must begin now to start courting the mature audience to ensure that he achieves legendary stature which is beckoning on him.

2  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Exposed: How helicopters supply arms, food to B’Haram - Borno, Yobe elders on: 1-04-2014 02:45 AM

Political elders from Borno and Yobe states have alleged that helicopters drop arms and ammunition, food and medicine to areas well known to be strongholds of the members of the dreaded Boko Haram sect in the North-East.

They said it was unbelievable that the authorities would claim ignorance of this development, wondering how about 20 to 30 Toyota Hilux vehicles could move in a convoy freely with a subsisting curfew without being detected.

The elders, who spoke at a press conference in Abuja on Monday, also asked the government to provide answer raised by the insurgents’ attack on the Maiduguri Air Force Base, where the terrorists demobilised and burnt planes and other military installations despite the existing state of emergency and curfew in the town.

Speaking under the aegis of Borno, Yobe People’s Forum, the elders also asked those in authorities to tell Nigerians those who authorised the withdrawal of security personnel from the Federal Government College, Buni Yadi, few hours before the attack that claimed the lives of 59 innocent children.

A former Chief of Air Staff, Air Vice Marshall Al-amin Dagash (retd.), read the text of the statement on behalf of the members of the Forum at the press conference.

He was flanked by a former Minister of Finance, Mallam Adamu Ciroma; a former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe; elderstatesman, Shetima Mustapha, and some political and opinion leaders from the two states.

The former Chief of Air Staff wondered why security reports from the communities on impending attacks were ignored or not promptly responded to by security personnel and the government.

Dagash said, “Are the authorities unaware of helicopters dropping arms and ammunition, food and medical supplies to areas well known to be strongholds of the surgents?

“How were the insurgents able to attack the Maiduguri Air-Force Base and demobilise as well as burn planes and other military installations despite existing state of emergency and curfew in the town? How could 20 to 30 Toyota Hilux vehicles move in a convey freely with subsisting curfew and still go undected?

“How did a little band of rag-tag misguided youths metamorphose into a well kitted, well armed killing machine moving freely in convoy of vehicles and supported by holicopters.

“How did the Shilka Tank, a multipurpose self-propelled anti-aircraft artillery weapon positioned to secure Giwa Barracks fail to function resulting in heavy loss of lives of both civilian and military as widely reported in the media? Are we dealing with fifth columnists in this crisis?”

3  Forum / The Buzz Central / I can date my colleague but can’t marry him — Lola Magret on: 1-04-2014 02:25 AM

Lola Magret has said she found herself in the Yoruba sector of Nollywood because she didn’t know who could introduce her into the English sector. She has Bolaji Amusa aka ‘Mr Latin’; to thank for her first shot at glory in the make-believe business.

Once, there was a rumour that the beautiful actress was dating a politician, to which she reacted vehemently that she could never date a politician. And only recently she confessed to me  that she cannot also marry somebody from the industry.

“ I can’t marry somebody from the industry because the  marriage doesn’t last. There is always lack of trust and understanding. Though, there’s nothing bad about dating each other,” she said

But when she was questioned why she would date somebody she doesn’t intend to marry. “It’s not every relationship that leads to marriage, we are into relationships only to find out  who may end up as the real one. Anyway, I have a boyfriend. He is the man in my life. I mustn’t tell you his name. He is okay with my profession. I am not dating an actor. My fiancée understands me and he understands my job. I love him and we intend to get married. He is a loving and caring guy. He is God-fearing. I love him so much and that was why I chose him”.

5  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / University of Abuja students protest lack of water, power on: 1-04-2014 01:40 AM

Students of the University of Abuja on Monday protested the lack power and water supply to the permanent campus site of the university.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that more than 1,000 students gathered on the campus about 8am on Monday and barricaded road leading to the Senate building and classes.

Some of them told NAN that the protest became necessary because the school authorities had not provided power and water at the campus for three months running.

Mr Mike Ajeoja, a Theatre student, said those of them living in hostel at the permanent site had no power and water for the past three months.

Ajeoja said they had drawn the attention of the school management to their plight, but nothing had been done to address the situation.
“We are left with no choice then to come out and tell the world our problems.
“We will not stop the protest unless our problems are solved,” he said.
A female student, who pleaded for anonymity, said she had not had her bath for some days as a result of lack of water.

According to her, some of students use sachet water to bath, cook and even wash clothes.
“We are tired of staying without water and light. We wear squeezed clothes to the classes and we do not want such situation to continue,” she added.

The Information Officer of the school, Mr Waziri Garba, confirmed the situation to NAN on telephone, saying the students were protesting lack of power and water supply in the school.
Garba, however, appealed to them to remain calm, assuring that the school management was already taking steps to resolve the problem.

Meanwhile, Baro Ahmad, the Business Manager, Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, Gwagwalada, said it was not true that the school had no power for three months running.
He blamed power outage on the campus on some electrical problems which, he said, the company was working on.

Ahmad assured the students and school management that steady power would be restored to the campus.
“By 4 p.m. today (Monday), there will be steady power supply to the permanent site,” he said. (NAN)

6  Forum / Naijapals Base (Metro life) / Sanusi Lamido Fingered As Top Boko Haram Sponsor In Nigeria on: 1-04-2014 01:25 AM

A new twist has been added to the ongoing travails of the suspended Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Lamido Sanusi, as the Department of State Security Service, SSS, has accused him of financing terrorism.

The SSS stated this at the Federal High Court, Lagos, while defending its decision to seize Mr. Sanusi’s international passport.

Mr. Sanusi’s passport was seized on February 20, as he arrived the Lagos international airport, hours after he was suspended as Central Bank Governor by President Goodluck Jonathan.

The new charge, which Mr. Sanusi’s lawyers described as false and baseless, tallies with a similar surreptitious but baseless allegation thrown at the bank chief by a presidential aide.

Reno Omokri, the Special Assistant to the President on New Media, had, on February 26, used a pseudonym, Wendell Simlin, to circulate an article that tried to link the recent spike in Boko Haram attack to the suspension of the CBN governor.

The embattled CBN chief was controversially suspended by the president based on allegations of ‘financial recklessness’ by the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria, FRCN.

Several investigative reports by PREMIUM TIMES had shown that Mr. Sanusi indeed approved some interventionist spendings from CBN funds, but he did so with adequate approval from the board of his bank and President Goodluck Jonathan.

Mr. Sanusi, in separate suits, challenged his suspension, and asked for an enforcement of his fundamental rights as enshrined in the Nigerian constitution.
During the hearing of the rights’ suit, which continued on Monday, the respondents – the Attorney General of the Federation, AGF; the Police; and the SSS – made different claims.
Sanusi sponsors terrorism
The fresh terrorism-related allegation against Mr. Sanusi came from the SSS.

The agency said it was investigating Mr. Sanusi for allegedly financing terrorism. The SSS counsel, Moses Idakwo, said Mr. Sanusi’s interaction with SSS officials did not last for up to an hour and did not constitute a violation of his rights.

He said the provisions of Section 6 of the National Security Agencies’ Act empowered the Service to impound the international passport of suspects pending the conclusion of investigations.

It is not clear how this fresh allegation by the SSS is related to the dubious claims by Mr. Omokri.

PREMIUM TIMES and a few citizen journalists had exposed how Mr. Omokri, using a non-existent alias, Wendell Simlin, created a document linking Mr. Sanusi with financing the terrorist Boko Haram group.

The document was later shown to have been created by Mr. Omokri, with several Nigerians calling for his sack. The presidency has kept mum since the scandal was exposed.

On Monday, however, Mr. Sanusi’s counsel, Kola Awodehin, accused the SSS of falsehood in its new claim against the bank chief, saying the agency had no shred of evidence.
Dismiss Sanusi’s suit
The counsel to the AGF, Fabian Ajogwu, had objected to the suit, urging the court to strike it out for want of jurisdiction.

Mr. Ajogwu argued that the provisions of Section 254 (c) 1 (d) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended) ousted the court’s jurisdiction to entertain the suit.
He noted that the case before the court borders on the applicant’s employment, saying that labour -related cases are within the exclusive jurisdiction of the National Industrial Court, NIC.

“Section 254 (c) 1 (d) of the Constitution vests exclusive jurisdiction on the National Industrial Court, with respect to civil causes or matters touching on employment, labour or industrial relations.

“We respectfully urge the court to hold that it has no jurisdiction to entertain the reliefs sought by the applicant,” he said.

The counsel urged the court to strike out the suit.

Mr. Ajogwu also argued that the applicant should not, by the suit, seek to restrain the respondents from performing their constitutional duties.
He argued that Mr. Sanusi was being investigated based on the FRCN’s claims. He said the suspended bank chief was being investigated in accordance with the provisions of the law, which the respondents had a statutory duty to perform.

Citing the dictum of retired Justice Niki Tobi of the Supreme Court in the case of Adeniran vs Alao, Mr. Ajogwu submitted that a perpetual injunction would be everlasting and could not be granted by
a court of law.

“The applicant’s suit is basically an action to shield him from the machinery of administration of justice, which has been kick-started by the respondents,” Mr. Ajogwu submitted.

Nobody reported Sanusi to us
While the AGF said Mr. Sanusi was being investigated based on the FRCN investigations, the police said it was not investigating the CBN boss.

The counsel to the police, David Abuo, said nobody ever reported Mr. Sanusi to the police.

He, however aligned with Mr. Ajogwu, saying the case should be struck out as it seeks to bar government agencies from performing their duties.
Sanusi reacts

Responding to the respondents’ preliminary objection, Mr. Awodehin submitted that the court was vested with the jurisdiction to entertain the suit.
He argued that the suit had nothing to do with the terms of employment of the applicant or industrial relations, since it was not a case of the applicant against the Central Bank of Nigeria.

He argued that the applicant never sought an order of perpetual injunction, adding that the reliefs he sought were qualified.

“It cannot be suggested that the applicant is restraining the respondents from performing their duties, but they must be restrained from doing so without due process of the law.

“The seizure of the applicant’s international passport by the third respondent is a derogation of his freedom of movement,” he said.
Mr. Awodehin also argued that the different submissions by the three respondents showed that laws were being violated in Mr. Sanusi’s treatment.

“The first to third respondents give conflicting reasons as to the complaint made against the applicant.

“This conflict goes to show that they acted without due process of the law,” he said.

The counsel also argued that the SSS’ claim of financing terrorism was bogus.

“The allegation against the applicant as to funding of terrorism is an afterthought by the respondents which is not backed by facts, as there is no reasonable suspicion that the applicant committed any crime,” he said.

He urged the court to dismiss the preliminary objection and uphold the case of the applicant.

The court had on February 21 granted an interim order, restraining the respondents from arresting, detaining, or harassing the applicant pending the determination of the substantive suit.

The interim order was sequel to an affidavit of urgency filed by the applicant on the same date. On Monday, the court adjourned ruling on the preliminary objection to April 4.

Pagans, witches, spiritualists and Rastafarians are among the British Army’s ranks.

Official figures obtained through Freedom of Information show 770 members of the armed forces declared their religion as “other” and, of these, are 120 devotees of paganism.

While paganism is a broad group of indigenous and polytheistic religions it is closely associated with the peaceful groups who gather at Stonehenge for Summer Solstice festivals.

The Metro reports that 60 of the 120 pagans serve with the army and the ranks also include 20 followers of Wicca, a tradition associated with witchcraft.

While associated with free love, flowers and dancing round Maypoles, Professor Ronald Hutton pointed out that some notable warriors throughout history have been pagans and so they are well suite to going into battle.

Professor Hutton told the Metro: “There is no pacifism necessarily embedded in modern pagan or Wiccan religious attitudes, and ancient pagans could make formidable soldiers.

10  Forum / The Buzz Central / Top 26 Nollywood Stars Whose Marriages Have Stood The Test Of Time! on: 31-03-2014 06:52 PM

In an industry where divorce and separation seem to be rampant, it seems good to celebrate some Nollywood stakeholders whose marriages seem to have stood the test of time. This is because the media have celebrated the frequent marriage crashes in Nollywood more than the way they have celebrated the ones that have been intact for years.

Nevertheless, there are divorces and separations everywhere, but those of entertainers attract much attention because they are in the limelight. It’s also necessary to note that there is nothing like a perfect marriage.

Here is a list of some Nollywood top stakeholders whose marriages have stood the test of time. The list is in no particular order. I painstakingly came up with this compilation. Your contributions and comments are Welcomed.

1) Olu Jacobs and Joke Silver:
The two are celebrity couples and they have been married for so many years and they inspire younger actors with their marriage.

2) Omotola Jolade Ekeinde and Matthew:
Next on the list is Omotola whose marriage to her hubby just clocked 18 years.
Despite the scandals and rumours associated with the entertainment industry, they have been able to weather the storm of marital life.

Omotola and husband Captain Mathew Ekeinde recently celebrated their 18th wedding anniversary.

The star actress gave a shout out to her husband on instagram this with a video tagged with a special message. See the message below…

“18 years , still like we dating babe… Nice and easy… My best friend … Funny, annoying, caring, workaholic…We still here babe, you’re still the one!#happymarriageanniversary”

3) Zack and Ngozi Orji:
Zack and Ngozi met in Enugu many years back when Ngozi was still a student at the Institute of Management and Technology. Ngozi is also an actress.Apart from acting, the duo are also into music and are blessed with three children, Emeka Lionel Orji, Princess Laura Chiamaka and Michelle Chidimma Orji. Zack in an interview with a weekly magazine said that their marriage has survived because of their maturity and understanding adding,to the fact that they did not get married in Nollywood. He said trust has been the rock of their marriage and he has never felt jealous anytime she plays love roles because she is only doing her job. The same goes with Ngozi who says she doesn’t feel jealous her hubby cuddling another woman in the movie.

Not even the rumoured relationship between Zack and a Ghanaian minister’s wife, which Zack vehemently refuted thus “Over my dead body! I won’t ever do a dirty thing like that. Selasi is someone my wife knows very well, they met in Ghana and she knows there was nothing else between us aside the business we both executed.” could separate them.

4) Omoni Oboli and Nnamdi:
Actress Omoni Oboli and her husband, Nnamdi Oboli has been married for 14 years now and they have in many ways become a reference point to other actresses who rush in and rush out of marriage.
In a previous interview Omoni said she has no plans for divorce
” Marriage to anybody is to understand the responsibility that comes with it. In my marriage, there’s no plan B; no thoughts about divorce. The fact that he isn’t a celebrity is not what makes him a great husband, it’s just who he is”.

5) Regina Askia Williams:
Regina askia sacrificed her fame and acting career for marriage to American Rudy Williams. The couple is blessed with 2 kids together. Regina got married to Rudy since 2000, they separated at a point in their marriage but later got back together. Who would have thought that Regina would stay in a man’s house for like 13 years? This is inspiring.

6) Rita Tony Edochie:
Rita has been married to Pete Edochie’s brother, Tony for many years.
Here her words in a recent interview:

“My name is Rita Tony Edochie. I am an actress, a proud mother of four (two boys and two girls). One of my daughters is married now. I am also a proud grandmother and by the grace of God my home is intact. I give all glory to God for that.”

12  Forum / The Buzz Central / 'I'm a supporter of polygamy; African men are polygamous in nature' -Jibola Dabo on: 31-03-2014 04:03 PM

Nollywood actor Jibola Dabo, who has five children from different women said in a recent interview with TheNetng that he's an ardent supporter of polygamy and believes that most men in Africa are polygamous in nature. Read what he said below and tell us if you agree with him.
..
"People misunderstands what polygamy means. I am an ardent supporter of polygamy. Every single man, mostly from Africa, is polygamous in nature. We are just deceiving ourselves. Polygamy means when you see a woman you love and desire, you marry her with the consent of your already married wife and bring her home. It's not when you have one wife at home, then you have others scattered in different other places, that is not polygamy. And not when you have three wives and you cannot take care of one, that is an insult to polygamy. There are so many women out there who just want to have a man as an umbrella, but we keep saying one man one woman. Yet the women keep suffering. We all know that we have much more women in this world than men, the ratio is too high.

My father had six wives, my uncle that brought me up had so many wives also. What I am saying is that it is not illegal, we are not in America. Ironically, the white man would have one wife and still keep so many mistresses. If not, there wouldn't have been an English word for concubines. That means it exists in their culture.
Which is better, concubines or wives? In the days when polygamy was well respected, diseases were not rampant. It is now that when men hide to do it that strange segxwally transmitted diseases have become the order of the day" he said.

"I have only one wife but I have children from more than one woman. And its not because I had mistresses, its because I have lived in various countries, including America, France, Britain etc. I am this person that any woman that comes to me would always want to have something for me. I have had experiences. I was with a woman and years later, a child was brought to me, a child I didn't know when it was conceived". he added

All these Nollywood actresses won’t kill us. The society we live does not permit us to come out straight and say certain things, especially when it comes to segxwal talks. But Crystal Okoye has gone pass that now, has she exploded in a new interview that, she has no business with a man who can’t PERFORM in bed. Stressing that, she likes sex and she is not ready to hide it and her man must be ready for her. Lol. Hear her;

I am not one of those women who would tell you sex doesn’t matter; it matters a lot in a marriage.  If a man cannot perform I have no business with him.

You have to be a complete man to be with me. I don’t pray to marry a poor man but a man who can comfortably take care of me. I love sex, and I am not going to pretend I don’t. I know most girls even fake orgasm just to please their partners but I am not that kind of girl, she said.

One of MKO Abiola’s daughters, Waliyah Abiola has delved into music. Waliyah said she hates to tell people she is an Abiola, so people won’t think she's trying to use her father's name to step up her career. She said she has been doing her music without the name, and she is comfortable with it.

She also said, her father loved music and would have supported her if he was still alive. Here is what she told Punch. Pretty girl!

Were your father to be alive, would he have supported this?

I think my father, the late MKO Abiola, would have supported me and would have been quite tickled by the whole thing. He loved proverbs and music; therefore, what I am doing is not strange. He loved to sing and was in a band. He often sang at weddings and as a school boy in Abeokuta. I have fond memories of him singing, “The Beatles” songs in the kitchen. This must have been a relic from the time when he was studying to become an accountant in Scotland. I am not relying on my family name to gain acceptance. Many people have known me on the music circuit for a year now and don’t even know my family background. It is something I never bring up and this is the first time I’m discussing it in an interview. I am proud of whom I am but as I don’t want to trade on it, I simply never mention it. I’m not very comfortable discussing it, even now.
16  Forum / The Buzz Central / "I saw Aso Rock on fire"-Was prophet Soul E right about his prophesy all along? on: 31-03-2014 06:24 AM

Barely a week after Soul E prophesied that he saw Aso Rock on fire, something similar happened today when suspected Boko Haram detainees tried to break free from the SSS Headquarters Abuja. This resulted in a serious gun battle with the military where 18 of them were reportedly killed, while 10 were recaptured.
Worthy of note is the fact that this SS quarters is in the same vicinity as Aso Rock Villa and that whole area was under fire..

Could it mean Soul E's prophesy was true & should others he prophesied about take heed?
In a recent Daily post interview this is what he said
"Wizkid should really be careful- that is, if he will listen to me. I might not be T.B. Joshua, but he should listen to me. Davido should also be careful because I didn’t even reveal all that I saw in my dream. I also said in my write-up that I saw Aso Rock on fire. It was like a terrorist attack on Aso Rock. President Goodluck Jonathan should call for a three-day fasting for the nation. I am not saying this because I want to meet him; rather, I am saying it because I am a Nigerian and a prophet in this land. Of course, I know a prophet doesn’t have honour in his land. Jonathan should call all the men of God he knows to pray for him – he doesn’t have to call me.”

19  Forum / The Buzz Central / "My body is aging...I go along with my make-up artiste anywhere I go" - Faliwere on: 30-03-2014 09:23 PM

Her name Modupe Mariah Johnson might not ring a bell in the ears of Nollywood enthusiasts especially those of the Yoruba movie genre but just mention “Faliwerepe” and you see heads turning in her direction.

In a recent chat with City People, Faliwerepe who became famous after her role in the famous Batawahala Yoruba soap opera of the late 80s and early 90s, talked about her career, her family and so much more.

See excerpts below:

Who gave you the name Faliwerepe and how did it stick to you?
The name Faliwerepe came through the famous Yoruba soap of the late 80s and early 90s titled “Bata Wahala” by Ajimajasan.
That soap had a very interesting storyline of a man who married 27 wives and I happen to be the last wife and I was the most troublesome and cantankerous in the house hold. And because of my cantankerous nature I was tagged as Faliwerepe which came from my name Falilat in the soap. People started calling me Fali-Werepe, meaning that I am troublesome and very, very prone to anger and all sort of things known to people of that nature. Werepe is a plant that once it touches your body, you will just be troubled all day long. So, in a nutshell, I got the name from Ajimajasan’s film Bata Wahala (The crisis laden shoe)

Your voice and mannerism in life tallies with your character in the movies, will you say that is truly who you are in real life?
Ah, ah, that can never be true. I can never be Faliwerepe in the movie and be Faliwerepe in real life. Faliwerepe is different from Modupe Johnson and Modupe Johnson is not Faliwerepe.  The truth is that we only use our adopted characters in movie roles to illustrate things or serious issues of life. For instance, the movie Bata Wahala was used to correct the ills of polygamy in the society; do you know that after that film, we saw a lot of Nigerians who had more than a wife came and reduce their harem. It was a big eye opener for them because there is no how you will gather a harem and you won’t have a Faliwerepe among them, so, my character in the movies is not my personality in real life. It is just the other side of me that teaches people on serious issues of life. I am a gentle person by nature although I don’t condone cheating.

Can you say your inability to be educated in life have robbed on your success in the movie industry?
Far from it, yes I can say I still feel guilty that I didn’t get a full education but let me also tell you that nothing an educated person has gotten that I have not gotten through movie. Through acting I have raised educated children and travelled all over. I have built houses and when I say houses, I won’t like to say maybe it is one or two. But at least I am a landlady through my gift of acting. I have travelled to several countries of the world and the last time I went to America I was even making jest of myself; I said when we were growing they used to sing that “Bata Re a dun koko-ka (2ce) to’o ba kawe re, bata re a dun koko ka” (Your shoe will make the Kokoka noise (2ce) if you read your book, your shoe will make the Koko ka noise”. And I said, ‘look at me, despite the fact that I didn’t read my shoe is still doing ko-ko-ka . What if I now read (Laughter). But the fact remains that education is the best asset you can give a child, no matter how gifted the child is, you must give education to that child, for me, maybe my rare creativity as an actress made some way for me. My peculiar nature, my peculiar creativity and all that but not withstanding, I will always advise young people especially the female child to go to school. Life changes everyday and education remains the only current that will pay your life bills.

What would you say are the major challenges of being a veteran actress especially with the emergence of young actresses all over town?
I can’t say one is outdated in stuff, you can not be taken out of your own stuff; there will never be two Faliwerepe, there will never be two Iyabo-Oko, there will never be two Mama Rainbow, you are what you are by the special grace of God. Yes, we reinvent ourselves because change is the only thing that will last a decade or a century. And for those emerging girls, we also try to educate them and put them through; life can never be rich without the advice of the elderly. You must listen to those who have seen it earlier before you, that is why God made it for us to have our fathers and mothers before we become adults.  Talking about being a veteran actress, I will say that does not affect my stuff as an actress but in terms of make up, I am above 50 and at times, when your body is aging, things you do as a young person might start eluding you. For instance, I like laying my eye lash as a young girl but now, if I try doing it the thing will just slip up and become a total mess, so what I do is that I go along with my make-up artiste anywhere I go.
