Barcelona can confirm top spot in Group D by avoiding defeat against Juventus in the Champions League.

A 3-0 win at Camp Nou in September leaves the Liga giants in pole position, while another defeat for the Old Lady could set up a nervy final matchday with a knockout stage still not confirmed.

Gerard Pique is back for Barcelona after serving a one-match suspension, a boost with Paulo Dybala looking to emulate his two-goal show against the same opposition last season.

Juventus have not lost at home in Champions League since Bayern Munich triumphed 2-0 in April 2013.

Atletico Madrid must beat Roma to keep their faint hopes of a Champions League knockout place alive.

Back-to-back draws with Qarabag leave Atletico without a win in Europe this season, in stark contrast to their undefeated start to the Liga campaign.

Roma made easy work of Chelsea last time out and know just a point against Atletico, who lose Stefan Savic to suspension, will be enough to secure their last-16 place.

Chelsea can confirm their place in the Champions League knockout stage by beating Qarabag on Tuesday.

The Azerbaijan outfit were thrashed 6-0 when these two teams met in September but hold their own very faint hopes of a last-16 place after holding Atletico Madrid to back-to-back draws.

Antonio Conte is unlikely to rotate, especially with Michy Batshuayi and Charly Musonda still sidelined, but David Luiz will be hoping for a reprieve after being left out of Chelsea's previous two games.
4  Forum / Sports / Champions League Group B: Paris Saint Germain (7) - (1) Celtic (22/11/2017) on: 21-11-2017 08:34 AM

All signs point towards another Champions League hammering from Paris Saint-Germain for a Celtic side yet to guarantee Europa League football in the new year.

The Ligue 1 giants have scored 17 goals in four games and are yet to concede and the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Neymar and Edinson Cavani running riot as a fearsome front three.

Not since the 2012-13 season have Celtic made the knockout stages of the Champions League and will once again have to settle for Europe's second-tier competition this term.

Brendan Rodgers & Co. must avoid defeat on matchday six against Anderlecht to confirm passage to the Europa League so any result at Parc des Princes will be a surprise and a gift.

Bayern Munich head to Anderlecht in the Champions League hoping for a Paris Saint-Germain slip-up in the hunt for top spot in Group B.

The Bavarians need Celtic to do them a favour before beating the oil-rich Parisians in matchday six.

Anderlecht are the opponents on Wednesday, the Belgians are yet to score in Europe this season and lost 3-0 in Germany in matchday one.

Manchester United can confirm top spot in Group A with just a point as they return to Champions League action against Basel on Wednesday.

With just one goal conceded after four games, United are firmly in pole position but face a Swiss side sitting in second place and level on points with third-placed CSKA Moscow.

A slip up for Basel - who have Taulant Xhaka is suspended for the game - could see them facing elimination, with a trip to Benfica on the final matchday, while United are averaging more than two goals a game.

United have not always had it their own way against Basel, being knocked out of the Champions League group stage by Wednesday's opponents five years ago.

Tottenham travel to Borussia Dortmund knowing they will secure top spot in Champions League Group H if they match Real Madrid's result on Tuesday.

A deserved 3-1 win against the holders on November 1 puts Spurs in the driving seat, but they come into the game off the back of a demoralising 2-0 loss at rivals Arsenal.

Dortmund must win to keep their faint hopes of a place in the knockout stages alive, qualification Spurs are already assured of, but have just one competitive victory - against third-tier Magdeburg in the cup - since September.

Real Madrid can confirm their place in the Champions League knockout stage with victory over Apoel Nicosia on Tuesday.

A loss at Wembley Stadium to a rampant Tottenham side last time out was the holders' first in the group stage for five years.

The Cypriot outfit earned deserved draws with Borussia Dortmund in the previous two matchdays but face an uphill battle to secure Europa League qualification.

With Spurs away in Germany, Real Madrid will be hoping results go their way in the pursuit of a top-of-the-group finish ahead of the knockout stage.

Manchester City host Feyenoord having already qualified for the last-16 of the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola's side have a perfect record from their opening four Group F games this season, scoring 12 goals in the process as well as winning home and away against Serie A leaders Napoli.

Feyenoord have already been knocked out of the Champions League following four straight defeats, but can still qualify for the Europa League if Napoli slip up in the last two gameweeks.

With City already home and dry - and three points ahead of second-placed Shakhtar Donetsk - Guardiola may be tempted to hand starts to a few promising youngsters as he juggles his squad ahead of a hectic festive fixture list.

Liverpool head to Spain looking for a key Champions League win against Group E rivals Sevilla on Tuesday.

Jurgen Klopp's men sit top of the group after two morale-boosting wins against minnows Maribor, but their real test will come in the final two gameweeks.

Liverpool top the group by one point with two games to play, but could drop out of the qualification spots for the last-16 if results go against them on Tuesday night.

With Spartak Moscow likely to beat Maribor, Liverpool must get a result in Seville to avoid a shootout for the knockout stages with the Russians in the final gameweek.

Manchester United will be looking to keep within touching distance of Premier League leaders Manchester City when they host Newcastle United on Saturday.

A 1-0 loss to Chelsea last time out saw Pep Guardiola & Co. move eight points clear after just 11 games, a record advantage at this point of a Premier League season.

United will be playing after all of their title rivals at the weekend to round off a busy Saturday schedule which could see them drop to fourth before kick-off at Old Trafford.

Start time

Manchester United host Newcastle United at Old Trafford with kick-off scheduled for 5.30pm on Saturday, November 18.

Team News

Manchester United have lost Phil Jones after the defender was forced off during the first half of England's 0-0 draw with Germany.

Jones joins Michael Carrick, Paul Pogba and fellow centre-back Marcos Rojo on the sidelines.

Merino is still struggling with a back injury while Lascelles and Atsu - ankle and thigh respectively, were forced off in the home defeat to Bournemouth.

<a href="" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win" rel="nofollow"></a>

Chelsea return to the Hawthorns for the first time since their Premier League title-clinching victory of last season when they face West Brom.

Michy Batshuayi's sole goal secured the Blues' 28th league win of the campaign in May on the way to a record-breaking season, but their title defence this term has been underwhelming at times.

A win over Manchester United last time out was a much-needed positive note after a string of unimpressive performances both home and in European competition in the weeks preceding.

West Brom, meanwhile, have not won since August and serious questions are being asked of Tony Pulis's job security midway through a campaign for the first time in his managerial career.

Start time

West Brom host Chelsea at the Hawthorns with kick-off scheduled for 3pm on Saturday, November 18.

Team news

Antonio Conte has a fresh injury concern on his hands after Tiemoue Bakayoko reportedly pulled up in training.

The summer arrival was not picked by France for international week so has spent the week at Cobham upping his personal fitness only to have to bow out of a session early on Friday.

In addition, Michy Batshuayi was forced to withdraw from the Belgium squad with a foot injury and has returned to Chelsea.

Gary Cahill is a slight doubt but will be assessed while on England duty as doubts over David Luiz's place in the squad under Conte continues.

West Brom have no fresh injury concerns with only Craig Dawson and James Morrison still sidelined.

Liverpool face somewhat of a bogey team in the form of Southampton on their return to Premier League action.

After scoring six against the Saints two years ago, Liverpool failed to beat the south coast club in the next five games with just two goals to their name during that run.

Southampton, though, are the definition of inconsistency this season holding a record of three wins, four draws and four defeats in their opening 11 games with just nine goals scored.

The Reds can win a third game in a row in the league for the first time in 12 months with three points on Saturday.

Start time

Liverpool host Southampton at Anfield with kick-off scheduled for 4pm on Saturday, November 18.

Team news

Jordan Henderson pulled out of the England squad but could feature at Anfield after being sidelined with a thigh injury.

Philippe Coutinho skipped Brazil's win over Japan but could come in to face England at Wembley despite missing Liverpool's last three games.

Elsewhere, Adam Lallana continues to near a first-team return, but Nathaniel Clyne is sidelined for the foreseeable.

Southampton are still missing Mario Lemina to an ankle injury, and Jeremy Pied, but otherwise have no fresh concerns.

Manchester City travel to Leicester City on Saturday looking to maintain their record-breaking start to the Premier League season.

Pep Guardiola's pace-setters have dropped just two points after 11 games, boasting 31 points and a plus-31 goal difference.

Leicester, meanwhile, appear to have somewhat steadied the ship, with new manager Claude Puel gaining four points from his opening two games, but face a daunting task at home on Saturday.

Start time

Leicester City host Manchester City at King Power Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 3pm on Saturday, November 18.

Team news

Raheem Sterling and Fabian Delph withdrew from the England squad with back and calf complaints respectively.

Bernard Silva could come in on the right flank, while Ilkay Gundogan will be hoping for a start after returning for Germany during the international break.

Leicester City are sweating on the fitness of Vicente Iborra (ankle) and Ben Chilwell (knee) ahead of the visit of City.

Claude Puel could revert back to a 4-4-1-1, with Andy King and Shinji Okazaki coming in as Riyad Mahrez moves back to the wing.

Predicted line-ups

Leicester City starting XI: Schmeichel; Simpson, Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs; Mahrez, Ndidi, King, Gray; Okazaki; Vardy

Manchester City starting XI: Ederson; Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Delph; De Bruyne, Fernandinho, Gundogan; Silva, Aguero, Sane

Arsenal and Tottenham go head to head on Sunday in the first Premier League north London derby of the 2017-18 season.

Mauricio Pochettino's Spurs have started the season brightly by qualifying for the Champions League last-16, but sit eight points behind Premier League leaders Manchester City in the title race.

Arsenal are even further behind Spurs as Arsene Wenger's men trail City by 12 points, sitting sixth after losing four of their opening 11 League games to put pressure on their long-serving manager.

Though there is still plenty left to play for this season, a defeat for either side would seriously dent their title ambitions before another tricky festive fixture pile-up.

Start time

Arsenal host Tottenham at Emirates Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 01:30pm on Saturday, November 18.

Team news

Olivier Giroud is a major doubt for Arsenal with a thigh injury picked up on international duty, though the France striker was unlikely to start the derby.

Rob Holding is unlikely to return, but there is more hope for David Ospina and Shkodran Mustafi. Santi Cazorla remains a long-term absentee.

Tottenham are facing an injury crisis ahead of the north London derby, with a number of key players currently out of action.

Goalkeepers Hugo Lloris and Michel Vorm are both out along with defenders Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) and Jan Vertonghen (ankle), while Victor Wanyama is still battling to return - Vertonghen should recover in time, though Lloris faces a race to be fit.

Pochettino expects Dele Alli to be back in time for the trip to the Emirates despite the midfielder pulling out of England's recent squad for the November international break.

Harry Kane (knee) and Harry Winks (ankle) both also departed from Gareth Southgate's Three Lions squad due to injury setbacks, though the striker will return against Arsenal provided he suffers no further problems.

Algeria vs Nigeria
World Cup Qualifiers – Africa
Date: Friday, 10th November 2017
Kick-off 08:30pm
Venue: Stade Chahid-Hamlaoui (Constantine).

Having already qualified for the 2018 world cup, the Nigeria team will visit the bottom-placed side Algeria on 10th November. This may be not an anticipated clash, however, it is a good game to watch.

Team News

The home side has recently sacked their head coach Lucas Alcaraz who has just registered just one win in his reign of 13 months. However, the team has no injury concerns ahead of this clash.

The Eagles have a lot of key players absent for this game, with Odion Ighalo, Victor Moses and Elderson Echiejile all ruled out.

Algeria vs Nigeria: Head to head

The Eagles have never lost to their host since 1990. They have drawn once and won seven of their last eight games. They have also scored at least two goals in four of the last eight encounters. The hosts won last against their visitor in 1990 African cup of nation game. The home side has registered a goal or more in only two of their last six meetings. Their last game ended in a 3 -1 win for Nigeria in world cup qualifiers.

Algeria vs Nigeria: Predictions

The Nigerian team has already qualified for the world cup, hence there is a feeling they will field an experimental team. However, they have a lot of talented players who are capable of registering a win in this game. They are backed to win this game at 3.56 while a draw is backed at 3.16 and a home win is backed at 2.21.

Given that the Algeria teams are at home and they have two best players in Riyad Mahrez and Islam Slimani, they are likely to score in this game. Both to score yes odds are at 1.92 while both to score no is backed at 1.73.

Also, the firepower of both the teams may allow them to register a lot of goals in this match. With over 2.5 backed at 2.19 and under 2.5 at 1.55.

Given that the Eagles have already qualified, this match will be another training session hence it will be difficult to see early goals. First-half draw odds are at 1.9, home side to win first half at 2.86 and odds for the away team to win at first half given at 4.17.

Chelsea face a huge Premier League title challenge as Jose Mourinho returns to Stamford Bridge with Manchester United.

Antonio Conte's Blues stormed to the 2016-17 title, but the champions have endured a tough start to the new campaign as they sit nine points behind leaders Manchester City after just 10 games.

The visit of United could scarcely come at a worse time for Conte, with the Blues heading into Sunday's game off the back of a 3-0 thrashing by Roma in the Champions League.

Meanwhile, former Chelsea boss Mourinho - sacked twice by Roman Abramovich - also has a point to prove despite United's strong start, with the Portuguese coach under pressure to prove that he can and will attack title rivals away from home.

Start time

Chelsea host Manchester United at Stamford Bridge with kick-off scheduled for 5:30pm on Sunday, November 5.

Team news

The big question mark over Chelsea's line-up this weekend will be N'Golo Kante, with Conte insisting that the French midfielder will only play if he is 100 per cent fit.

But Conte may be tempted to put Kante straight back into action after the way Cesc Fabregas and Tiemoue Bakayokjo struggled together in central midfield against Roma.

Conte also has some tough decisions to make in defence, with his back three of Gary Cahill, David Luiz and Antonio Rudiger struggling against Roma after the coach decided to switch Rudiger and Cahill either side of Luiz.

Mourinho's midfield problems continue with Paul Pogba, Michael Carrick and Marouane Fellaini still out of action, though Scott McTominay could be pushing for a surprise start after a competent full debut in the Champions League win over Benfica.

Anthony Martial - so often a threat for United off the bench this season - will also be hoping for a starting role after a match-winning goal against Tottenham last weekend.

Predicted line-ups

Chelsea starting XI: Courtois; Rudiger, Luiz, Cahill; Azpilicueta, Kante, Fabregas, Alonso; Pedro, Hazard, Morata

Manchester United starting XI: De Gea; Bailly, Jones, Smalling; Valencia, Matic, Herrera, Young; Martial, Rashford, Lukaku

Arsenal must be at their best on Sunday if they are to stop the Premier League's runaway leaders Manchester City.

Pe Guardiola's City are unbeaten after 10 games and lead the table by five points, scoring a remarkable 35 goals in the process.

City have also qualified for the Champions League knockout stages with two gameweeks to spare, meaning their can focus their attentions on building their already-dominant title advantage.

Arsenal sit nine points behind City, but Arsene Wenger's side have won four of their last five League games and will seek to rise to the occasion at Etihad Stadium.

Start time

Manchester City host Arsenal at Etihad Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 3:15pm on Sunday, November 5.

Team news

Wenger is optimistic that Sead Kolasinac will shake off a hip injury for Sunday's clash.

Shkodran Mustafi and Danny Welbeck are both out, but on course to return after the international break.

Calum Chambers (hip) has overcome injury so is available, but David Ospina (groin) remains sidelined.

Benjamin Mendy remains a long-term absence for City, while captain Vincent Kompany is out with a calf complaint.

Predicted line-ups and starting line-ups

Man City XI: Ederson, Walker, Stones, Otamendi, Delph, Fernandinho, De Bruyne, Silva, Aguero, Sane, Sterling

<a href="" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win" rel="nofollow"></a>

Tottenham must put their Champions League heroics against Real Madrid to one side on Sunday and focus their attentions on Premier League London rivals Crystal Palace.

Spurs bounced back from domestic disappointments in the EFL Cup against West Ham and League rivals Manchester United to stun Zinedine Zidane's Real, with Dele Alli (two) and Christian Eriksen sealing a memorable 3-1 win at Wembley.

While Spurs may have swept aside the Champions League holders with it, it is games against the likes of Palace that could well define their season in terms of a credible title challenge.

Palace, meanwhile, head to Wembley with growing confidence after snatching a late 2-2 draw against West Ham, and Roy Hodgson's Eagles have already shown they can surprise the big boys by beating Chelsea this season.

Start time

Tottenham host Crystal Palace at Wembley Stadium with kick-off scheduled for 01:00pm on Sunday, November 5.

Toby Alderweireld will miss out after picking up a hamstring problem against Real Madrid, though his likely absence of a few weeks will be tempered by the upcoming international break.

Pochettino has Moussa Dembele back, and will likely start alongside Harry Winks - who was superb against Madrid's midfield - with Eric Dier slotting into defence to cover Alderweireld's absence.

Mamadou Sakho is pressing to be fit in time for the trip across London, while Christian Benteke remains out. Patrick van Aanholt also came off injured early against West Ham, and should miss out.

Predicted line-ups

Tottenham starting XI: Lloris; Dier, Sanchez, Vertonghen; Aurier, Winks, Dembele, Rose; Eriksen, Dele Alli; Kane

Crystal Palace starting XI: Speroni; Ward, Dann, Tomkins, Schlupp; Loftus-Cheek, Cabaye, Milivojevic; Puncheon, Zaha, Townsend
20  Forum / Sports / EPL WEEK 11: Westham (1) - (4) Liverpool [04/11/2017] HIGHLIGHTS on: 2-11-2017 09:16 AM

<a href="" target="_blank" class="aeva_link bbc_link new_win" rel="nofollow"></a>

You know it’s crunch time when you look at the fixtures list to see who’s coming up next, only to see it’s one of the big clubs of the Premier League. No matter, Liverpool are shaky at the moment, and could fall asleep at the helm.

Ha, but this is our Match Preview for West Ham United vs Liverpool Match Preview. As always, we’ll go through the Players to Watch, my predicted Starting XI, as well as score predictions from myself and Chris.

After breaking into Slaven Bilic’s Carabao Cup squad and putting two past Tottenham Hotspur, Andre Ayew is on form and will no doubt be included in Slav’s match day squad for Liverpool. He put another goal past Crystal Palace last weekend, and could be utilized well if placed up top beside Javier “Chicharito” Hernandez. His pace and skill on the ball will be a great partner with Chicharito’s height and ability to slip into the box to score.

Mohamed Salah, on the other hand, will be a big problem to deal with. The Egyptian forward has arrived back in the Premier League and has caused some serious problems for opposition defences. He won’t have any issue breaking past West Ham’s either, especially if he’s partnered with Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino in Liverpool’s favourite 4-3-3 formation.

This Starting XI we turn out for Liverpool needs to be defensive, yet highly attacking to counter-attack Liverpool. However, with us knowing Slaven Bilic well, this may not actually happen.

Our formation of choice will be a 4-2-3-1. It’s been a while, but with our injury-riddled defence, it’ll be tough.

In goal, we’ve gone with Joe Hart again. He’s doing a great job in goal and could be good against Liverpool. Our Right-Back of choice will be Sam Byram as Pablo Zabaleta is suspended due to his final yellow card before suspension. Our Center-Back defenders will be Declan Rice and Angelo Ogbonna as Jose Fonte and Winston Reid are both injured. Left-Back will be Arthur Masuaku with Aaron Cresswell acting as cover for Masuaku. Our two defensive midfielders will be Cheikhou Kouyate and Pedro Obiang as both of these players have shown their class in more than one occasion and will be able to drop back to assist the defence as and when needed. Left-Midfielder is difficult to decide. On the Left-Midfielder position, we’re putting Marko Arnautovic in, with Manuel Lanzini operating in the Central Attacking Midfield position. We’ve opted to start Andre Ayew over Michail Antonio in the Right-Midfielder position as Ayew deserves his chance to extend his goal-scoring form with Chicharito operating up top. We know he’s not a lone-striker, however Hernandez is a classy player who’ll no doubt score with the service from Lanzini and Ayew.
