FOR THE RECORD

Our attention at the media office of the Osun State House of Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam (CGI) has been drawn to a picture taken by our Principal during the 2014 governorships electioneering campaign in Ejigbo state constituency, State of Osun, where he stood on his utility car in acknowledging the crowd that was cheering his presence.

Of course, the picture is real not photoshopped, but the narrative that accompanied it was misplaced, mischievous and in bad faith, because an Ejigbo indigene who loves Speaker Salaam and wanted to show it brought some packs of Lipton tea and Indomie noddles to him while his motorcade was passing through Ejigbo central enroute Oja Oba, the campaign venue.
Of course, Speaker Salaam accepted the good gesture and thanked his loyalist who donated his widow’s mite.
To our surprise, some faceless elements quickly brought the picture to the public with a view to slandering Rt. Hon. Najeem Salaam, because to the mischievous traducers, only a negative narrative could stop his governorship ambition. The bad news to the spin doctors of the narrative is that their antics is exposed and the intention is aborted before delivery.
Ordinarily, we ought to ignore the wicked intention of the narrator who is craving for relevance, but the record must be set straight for our supporters and sympathizers and no negative narrative about our Principal would derail his ambition as long as it does not stand in logic and facts.
This is to lay before the public that Speaker Salaam has put in his best to stabilize the state through stable House of Assembly in the last seven years; a synergy that has engendered unequaled development and conducive environment for business and peaceful coexistence.
In a nutshell, we emphatically stress that at no time was Rt. Hon. Najeem Folasayo Salaam throwing Lipton tea or Indomie noddles at people disrespectfully, because he loves his people and he respects them as his benefactors in politics.
